Run. Running as fast as little legs would allow. The Snivy's small hand was clasp tightly on the discolored arm of the Snover, pretty much dragging him as they rushed forward. He had to get to Violet. He had to apologize and made it all better. He had to say he was sorry to her.
"Come on Verg, we gotta go faster!" The Snovers stubby feet weren't nearly as fast as his anxious friend.
"Plant slow down, I'm gonna trip." The Snivy only quickened his pace as the tears blurred his vision.
The space where they had had that fight was coming into view. Just a few more buildings length and they had arrived. Plant was panting with fear, where had she gone? Small whines escaped through his teeth and his nerves got to him.
"Viiiiiolet??" he called out for her to no avail, the spider had long since fled this spot. Verglas placed a sympathetic hand on the grass starters shoulder,
"Maybe she's still close by?"The Snow Tree looked around for any sign of where Violet could of gone. Each stone tile of the ground looked the same and wouldn't hold much of a foot print especially with Violet's being so very small. Then he spotted it; small red blots, a thin trail of fresh blood drops.
"Plant look! I think this is from Violet." He pipped pointing to the trail. The Snivy turned to the spot nearly jumping out of his skin at the sight. He had
caused that blood, her blood, to spill. Tears dribbled down his face even faster as he ran clumsily after the blots, too wrapped up in this shame to control his motor skills properly.
One drip, two drips, there was the third drip and the fourth. He followed them intensely. Violet was at the end of this trail, he was almost there. He was almost to her. Plant was panting from the exertion when he came to a house. The door had been pushed closed but was still not completely shut. The drips could be seen on the ground leading inside and slightly smeared on the door itself.
Violet was in there. His little eyes went wide at the though and the Snivy pushed the door open busting into the room.
"Violet!" He squeaked,
"Im sorry Im sorry I hurt you Im sorry!" His eyes took in the room; the blood trail ended at a bed with a blood splotch on it but nothing else. Violet wasnt here.
"Euhh.." His tiny legs would no longer support him as Plant crumpled to the ground in a sniveling ball of tears.
Verglas had turned a different direction then Plant. At the house he noticed more of and a thicker blood trail coming from the back side. It left a bad feeling in the Snover as he followed it through the backstreets of the city. He would of called for Plant but he was too overtaken with tears now. The farther he traveled, the more blood the trail contained. Thicker, heavier. Refusing to let any nerves get to him the brave Snover kept going.
What laid before him was not for the faint of heart ether. Faint whines and grunts came from the half-eaten Ariados and undead Sandslash, respectively. Its bloodied quills were naturally red from there shiny coloration but the fresh crimson layer on them was not. Its one scarlet eye stared at the Snover as though unsure what to do. Its mouth opened to reveal red and black bloodstained sharp fangs as it shrieked with a demonic shrill. Violet was trapped beneath its long claws and could only wince at its cry.
The Snover didn't know what he could do. The undead pulled its thick claws from Violets abdomen, gushes of thick blood following. She whined in pain as her body shuddered. Slowly it moved closer to Verglas, its one glowing eye locked on him as its next kill. Taking one step back in a moments hesitation the Snover blasted the Sandslash with an icy burst of Powder Snow. The ear piercing cry it let out was coated in ice, smothering the sound until it was dull and quiet. But the Sandslash was not detoured. With one hand and half its face frozen it continued to come at Verglas guns blazing.
He ran, moving his stubby feet as fast as they would go until he literally dashed so fast his form stayed in place with his Double Team.
"PLANT!" He called out as hail began to fall around the fighting Pokemon. If Violet was going to die, judging by all that blood and gore she didn't have long, the Snivy needed to be there
asap. As the insane ground type slashed at his copies Verglas spat more Powder Snow at it, scoring direct hits to the dumb creature.
His trick only lasted so long before he was slashed in the back from the Sandslash's spiky quills. The Rapid Spin laced his back with long gashes which dripped drops of dark blood into the bright red trail of Violets. Verglas let out a wail of pain and several Razor Leaves in his defense. They pelted their target, causing blots of darkly colored blood to ooze from its discolored skin as well.
"Leave!" He yelled at it. That was twice he had risen his voice which wasn't like the quiet Snover at all.
Though his attacks were super effective the undead still came at his comrade. It landed another powerful claw through his side strengthened Fury Cutter. The attack knocked the wind from the Frost Tree making him collapse to the ground. The Sandslash slowly came closer until he was looming overhead. The Snover made another attempt to strike, sending a few stray Leaves at its face.
At least one found its target in the creatures last eye. The ear splitting curse of pain was its parting gift as the ground type fled back to the rocky outcrops. Verglas forced his way back to his feet. Violet, didn't have much time left. His head was swimming with fogginess but he stumbled over to her,
"Its gone, Violet, I tried." he voiced weakly to her. She tried to speak but all that came was a mouthful of blood, but the look in her eyes told it all; You tried to save me and I forgive you. The hail was stopping, but the solid and melted fragments of ice made the scene have a shiny, surreal red glow.
There was a horrified wail as a green bullet darted up to the spider. She was missing two walking legs and one of the remaining was only a stub. Her abdomen was half gone and a bloody soupy mess. The majority of her body was covered in her own blood as well..
Verglas will never forget the look on Plants face as he saw her.
"Im sorry Im sorry.. Im sorry.. Momma please don't leave me. Im sorry.. " The Snivy didn't know what a mother was yet he had found one for himself.
"We can make it all better, things will be okay again.." he begged life for her, clinging tightly to the spiders head. Her blood dirtied his skin but he didn't care.
"No no why.. Violet please dont go.. Momma don't die.. please.." The spider was able to mumble a few weak words. They were smothered with the gargles of blood but the sounds of 'forgive', 'love', and 'son' still came though in their broken sentences. Then there was a small outward gasp that came from her, and the light faded from Violets eyes forever.
The Snivy's cries filled the solemn air.
((Bah, harbing of Violet complete. Teared up a bit.))
