Listening to the quiet conversation that followed, Clyde remained near enough motionless, his eyes firmly closed to give the illusion of sleep. He was tired, but he felt it impolite to simply drift off without a word of introduction – unbeknownst that Shiro was already lost to unconsciousness. It had been a long, stressful day and the Vigoroth could entirely sympathise that everyone was exhausted – physically and emotionally alike.
“My name is- You can call me Champagne, f-for now,”
The ape opened his soft eyes, his gaze soon falling onto the bird that had recently made its appearance. He inclined his head lightly, a small smile on his lips at her somewhat hesitant introduction. She seemed reluctant to tell the whole truth, and whilst it made the creature suspicious, Clyde could understand that nowadays one could never be too careful. This Champagne, for whatever reason, thought it safer to consider her words.
As Lalita ushered the newcomer over, Clyde took the opportunity to shuffle against the wall, changing his position slightly to increase comfort. Looks like everybody was settling down, and in his state, the Vigoroth wasn’t about to pass up an opportunity to sleep. Turning his attention to the Sneasel and Champagane, Clyde managed a weak smile, feeling obliged to offer an explanation for the group’s drowsiness. He’d noticed Lalita drift off and was sure whether he wanted to or not, he would soon be joining her in slumber.
“We've had a rough day,” The ape started quietly, his expression unusually serene as the fire illuminated his tired face. He motioned to the two sleeping Ninetales. “We’re all a bit knackered really!” He chuckled lightly, the volume of his voice lowered as to not disturb his sleeping companions. “But, um... we can talk tomorrow, sort things out... You should rest, though, keep up your energy, hm? Clyde left the duo with a genuine smile, hoping that his fatigue hadn’t made him totally incomprehensible. Satisfied that the strangers were enlightened to their current situation, Clyde laid his head back against the wall, eyes closed. It took mere minutes to lose himself entirely to sleep.
