Quote | "Well I never! Is that any way to treat a lady?" |
History | Coryn was born on a farm where the humans bred Eevee to sell to others for battling, contest, or just companionship. They treated all of their Pokemon with love and care, but there were obvious price differences depending on the attributes of the offspring. Coryn didn't have anything special about him beyond looking pretty, so when a young girl asked her parents for him, the price for him wasn't high enough to deter the buyers. Coryn didn't mind leaving home, for life at the farm bored him, and he wanted to meet people outside of his family. The little girl absolutely adored him, and he loved the attention she gave him. It was nice to not have to share someone's love with his ten or more siblings and cousins, and it didn't take him long to evolve into an Espeon. He enjoyed the grace his new form granted him, and having psychic powers was the cherry on top. The girl was still in trainer school, and after a while, she was allowed to bring him with her to classes. Her classmates also had Pokemon, but she was the only one to have an evolved Pokemon. She was a quiet girl in class, Coryn discovered, but she lit up in excitement when the teachers started classes on actual Pokemon battling. Since she was the only one to have an evolved Pokemon, she had a slight power advantage over her classmates, and on top of that, she had a talent for battling that couldn't be denied. Some of the boys in the class didn't believe she was that tough until they fought her, and they found themselves steamrolled by the delicate appearing Espeon. Coryn didn't understand why the boys had such a hissy fit over the fact, but one of their Pokemon muttered, "Can't believe we got beat by a couple of girls." That's when he figured out the problem, and he thought about if he should bother correcting the other's assumption about his sex. Then he decided against it since the other was having such a dumb reaction to the wrong idea. If they though getting their asses kicked by a girl was such an insult, then he wasn't going to make them feel better by revealing that he was a guy. Also, his trainer was so happy to show up the boys, and if putting jerks in their place made her happy, he was glad to help. When she was old enough to go on a journey, she simply took him along as they explored. She didn't have any desire to raise more Pokemon, and he was fine with that. As they met more people, the more people simply assumed he was a girl, and he didn't see the need to correct them. It was fun to see their reactions if they figured out he was actually a guy, but he didn't particularly think of himself as strictly male. Barring that particular joke, he enjoyed flustering and teasing the various Pokemon he met, and then there were the other jokes he could play. The pair made a few friends, and life was good. His girl battled people with him, and they had a lot of fun overcoming challenges together. She took on a few gyms, but that was never her main goal as much as she just wanted to travel and see new places with her friends. She had gone home to visit her parents when they heard the news about the Epidemic, and for the first time, he was terribly frightened. Death had been something that he hadn't had to think about, and this virus sounded horrible. A call for evacuation went out, but they weren't allowed to take Pokemon with them. When his trainer heard this, she pulled him into her arms and sobbed for a good while, and she promised that she wasn't going to leave him. She planned to run away with him so that Coryn wouldn't be alone, and though he loved her all the more for her selflessness, he knew what he had to do. He tricked her into following him to her parents, and they forced her to come with them. He rubbed against her legs one last time before running as hard and fast as he could away. Life in the wild was hard to adjust to, but thankfully the time spent on the road meant that he wasn't completely unprepared. Pokemon still made assumptions about him, and many unsavory Pokemon found themselves at his mercy. Unfortunately, any attempts at making friends often ended in tragedy, and though he still cared about others, he never fully invested his feelings in them like he did for his beloved trainer. It was easier that way. |
Bulbapedia | "Espeon is a quadruped, mammalian Pokémon with slender legs and dainty paws. It is covered in fine, lilac fur. This velvety fur is sensitive for Espeon to sense minute shifts in the air, thus allowing it to predict the weather. Its ears are large, and it has purple eyes with white pupils. There are tufts of fur near its eyes, and a small, red gem embedded in its forehead. The gem boosts the psychic powers that it gained to protect its Trainer from harm. It also has a thin, forked tail that quivers when it predicts its opponent's moves. Espeon is rare in the wilderness, and is more commonly found in urban areas." |
Appearance | Coryn is an average Espeon, but it is even harder to distinguish his sex than others of his species. If someone thinks he's a female, he won't correct them unless he's outright asked or gets into a situation where it becomes important. He moves with grace, he looks delicate, and he acts the part most of the time. However, he is a seasoned battler who is quick on his feet, and he rarely gets up close and personal if he can help it. He keeps his fur well-groomed and his gem shiny, and he knows he's pretty. |
Accent | His voice is very androgynous, but his tendency to speak like an older lady makes people assume he's a posh female. |
Religion | Que sera, sera |
Motivation | Survive, not much else. Searching for company because being alone is boring. |
Personality | -Joker Loves to laugh and make others laugh. Often spots and spouts puns and occasionally innuendos -Can take as good as he gives If someone can catch him off guard with a joke, he loves it. He can't be mad at a fellow joker. -Playful In general, he means all of this in good fun, barring a few exceptions. Someone actually getting hurt or upset is not the intention most of the time. -Patronizing He is decently powerful and quick witted and knows it. Most of the time he acts this way, it is in a teasing manner, but towards someone who has pissed him off, this comes out in full swing. -Confident/borderline cocky/show off He can easily get in over his head by thinking he has a better control of a situation than he actually does. His attacks can be flashy if he's with others and is attempting to wow them. -Likes fucking around with people with rigid ideas of gender and gender roles He specifically doesn't correct people about what he is because he likes to make people think when they do find out. Usually it's fun to see their reactions at the initial reaction, but there's sometimes a conversation afterwards about why they thought it. -Sarcastic A large part of his humor. Usually meant in good fun until someone pisses him off, then it becomes very biting and mean spirited. -Verbal Likes to talk. If he has an opinion or thought on something, he'll let you know. -Generally an Extrovert Adores attention, but even then, he sometimes needs some time to himself -Does care deep down, but it's under many layers of sass Despite the sarcasm and nonchalance about death, he does care about others. He just doesn't show it conventionally. -He can be altruistic, but it's reserved for people who manage to get close to him. In general, he mostly cares for himself long term. If he has to choose to save someone else or himself, in order to actually make this a dilemma, he has to really care about them. -Has his moments of sadness, but he doesn't dwell on them long. Life is too short to stay focused on the sad. -Generally helpful If someone is nice, friendly, or polite, he won't try to hinder them. He'll do what he can to help within reason in exchange for company. -Very hard to press his buttons Goes with the flow pretty easily, and there aren't many things that can piss him off. -Heaven help you if you do (Vindictive as fuck) |
