| History | Blink is a monster, a terror...an abomination. The small little Litwick came into the world in a way unknown to him. He just...woke up, and started on his journey through life. He lived in a small cave that was frequented by humans, and when he saw them his flame would flicker and dance, drawing them ever closer. Little Blink never realized that what he was doing was actually feeding on these creatures, that their life force was feeding his own. The thought would never occur to him. It wasn't until he saw one of their kind, fully evolved, steal the entire soul of a human and kill them that he finally realized what was going on. And it terrified him. Blink began to see it everywhere! Ghosts stealing the life force of humans and Pokemon alike, all to feed their own vicious natures. How could he not have seen these monsters for what they were? How could he not have known what kind of monster he was?! Ghost were malicious, evil, wicked...they didn't deserve to live in the first place so they died, but due to their wickedness couldn't stay dead! What kind of person had he been before? Was he human? Pokemon? Or just some bunny that went around with a cleaver hacking people to death? He didn't know, and he didn't want to know. All he wanted was to get away. But he couldn't do that right away, oh no. First he had to teach himself to not harm others, but that was much easier said than done. He started practicing how to put out his flame on command, something he had seen others of his kind do. It was very difficult, because he had never had to think about it before. For the first few weeks of his efforts the best he could do was get his hellfire to dim off and on rapidly. It was this very occurrence that caused the other ghosts to start calling him 'Blink'. The candle bore the name with pride, because it meant he chose to not be a monster like the rest of them. Eventually he mastered the art of extinguishing his flame and knew that it was finally time. He was getting away from people, from Pokemon, from anyone that his evil ways could harm. The small Litwick fled his cavernous home and made his way to a place devoid of humans. Rarely and Pokemon traveled to this wondrous place so it was there that he took up residence. For several years he lived that way, only seeing the occasional soul pass his way, and only once did he ever cave and feed from one of them. Luckily he caught himself and stopped before the human even noticed that his life was being drained away. He was content in keeping his evil from the world, and didn't even notice when another evil started to invade it. It was months into the Epidemic before he even came across it, but it was in the form of a wicked power tearing through his home and transporting him somewhere...new. This place was full of Pokemon, bodies littered the floor everywhere as he watched strange looking Pokemon that bore no souls tearing into the flesh of those that did. It was horrifying. Blink fled as best he could but found himself far from home, so the best he could do was phase himself into a building and take shelter there. As the hordes left, Blink felt a little more at peace, but soon others started to come. Living scavengers looking for ways to survive kept bothering Blink and testing his resolve. But he would not be broken. He would scare off anyone who tried to come near, because he would not let them die. Not by him. He would never become a murderer like the one who showed him the true nature of him monstrous kind. But still the survivors persisted, and Blink was running out of ways to scare them. Soon he would have to face them, and heaven whoever they were. Abominations were a dangerous thing to trifle with. |
| Appearance | Blink is a normal Litwick, though he is somewhat overweight due to the fact that he refuses to light his flame and feed on people. His flame is never lit so only a small stubby wick shows. |
| Personality | Blink is a very lonely fellow. Very quiet and submissive he purposely avoid others because he is afraid to feed on them, and if he is forced into an encounter he makes sure the others see him as he sees himself...as an abomination. Tries to keep his flame unlit as much as possible because it is that light that absorbs the souls and life force of others. If in a situation where he has no escape from a group he just does whatever he is told to avoid conflict, terrified that any emotion on his part will cause his flame to ignite. In that situation he will also always find someone to ask to kill him if his flame ever does flicker. |
