History | Halloween was born alone, to a pair of hateful and angry Pokemon. In the wilds of Sinnoh, two packs of fire type Pokemon clashed against each other in search of food and resources, the Arcanine and the tribe of Infernape. One particular Pokemon from each group were even crueler than most others, a female Arcanine and a male Infernape; the pair would get into long, bloody fights in which they tried so desperately to kill each other. But they say that the more intense the emotion, the more they blur, and in a single instant hatred turned to passion, and neither fire type knew what had happened until there was an egg before both of them. A child, a forever reminder of what they had done. He was an abomination to those parts, everyone knew he had parents from both sides of the blood feud, and neither offered him comfort or food. Barely able to crawl, the unknowing baby went from Infernape territory to Arcanine, just asking for the food and milk he needed, but it was the same disgusted response. Left alone in the wild, the pup was easy prey for a passing by human. Clearly abandoned, by the state of his fur, the man took him to a nearby shelter, a place to raise young Pokemon unable to sustain themselves in the wild and adopt them out to humans. But this place would prove even worse to the baby than his abandonment in the wild. The place was known as a 'wildlife care and rehabilitation center', but it was a prison. Pokemon who were too young or handicapped to live in the wild were taken there. The people's goal was to give them all away to good homes, but if the Pokemon reached adulthood while there, they were simply be released. The unnamed pup didn't know any of that yet, though. He was taken into a small warm room with various other babies and was given formula by bottle. One of the people came up with the idea of naming him after the upcoming holiday, Halloween, and he bore he name for the rest of his life. He grew up under the careful watch of the caretakers, but once the Growlithe pup was strong enough, they let him into the space with the other adolescents. At first, Hallow was excited. He had never known any Pokemon who wanted anything to do with him, but now he could make new friends! And in the beginning, they were nice. He learned daily life as months turned into a year; he was shown and put up for several adoption shows, but no trainer seemed to care from him, causing the Growlithe to feel his first threads of doubt. Insecure, he made the rash decision to go visit his mom. Maybe she would know something? Not knowing much better, he escaped under one of the fences and raced into the forest. However, little did he know, several pairs of eyes were following him. The sun went down and still Halloween could not find his way back to the same forest; it was as if he was in a different forest completely. But as he began to grow scared and worried, a shimmering form appeared out of the darkness. Two massive clawed hands and a gaping, fanged mouth screeched at the pup and reached out to grab him, causing the baby to scream in terror and run. But the Haunter was not alone...and it followed him. Humans had seen his absence and scoured the nearby woods for the Growlithe, so when he fled yelping in terror, he was immediately found and caught. Scooped up, the pup shook with fright but did not fight them. Glancing over the man's shoulder, he could see shadows moving in the pitch black trees. Screwing his green eyes shut, he tried to block it out as he was driven back to the shelter. That night Halloween laid in his bed, closest to the window. Exhausted, he tried to go right to sleep, but found himself studying the moon shining full in the night sky. His mind kept awake by the primal urges to be active beneath the round moon, he was very conscious when suddenly figures moved outside the building. Suddenly, without warning, they vanished as fast as they appeared. Halloween was left wondering if he had even seen anything at all, but he did not sleep that night until the sun peaked over the horizon. However that was only the start. Over the next several months strange, horrible things happened around him. His food bowl would flip over, spilling and ruining his food without him ever touching it, finding thorns living the stuffing of his bed, out of reach and causing him to sleep on the ground, however the caregivers would scold him and force him to sleep in the bed and causing his pelt to bleed from scratches. It steadily became worse, though; first it seemed Halloween saw moving shadows in daylight, or heard laughter when no one was around, but then grew to claws gripping his body at night, his nightmares twisting into morbid and graphic scenes of blood and death. It scarred his mind after nonstop weeks ad months of it, but at least in that time he was the only one being affected. After almost a year of being specifically tortured, the Growlithe was ragged and constantly exhausted, but then his peers began lashing out. Another canine Pokemon accused him of stealing her belongings, but when Halloween disagreed, she ripped his bed apart and found her things hidden inside. Halloween had never done that, he didn't steal, but no one believed his pleas and he was punished by the humans. It steadily became more common though; accusations of stealing food, soiling beds, setting traps-- the youth was almost overnight becoming a delinquent in the eyes of everyone else. They reacted harshly, treating the Growlithe with mean words and even physical attacks when nearby. He quickly isolated himself, always alone and always the outcast. Everyone thought he was a horrible person and did things to piss them off, but no one ever questioned his crying and fearful behavior. At one point Halloween broke and tried to tell his old friends about the nightmares and visions, how he thought they were ghosts, but that only added fuel to the flames. No one believed him and they went from being cold to taunting and mocking him. The living steadily became worse than the ghosts he saw, but there was no peace. After years of it never ending... at one point Halloween merely broke. He stopped caring, he thrived on his solitude, and he stopped trying to defend himself. The years became a blur of trauma he no longer even wishes to remember, the only solstice being when he trained solo with the trainers and other caretakers. His level steadily grew, and he quickly became stronger than those his age at the shelter with his determination and lack of social distractions. The day he was an adult, twenty years old, the humans decided he could be safely released. They offered the grown pup a Firestone as a parting gift, and Halloween did not hesitate. Filling out to a massive, powerful form, when he left to the wild that day...he had never felt freer. The haunting immediately stopped when leaving the area, and the Arcanine never had nightmares caused by the ghosts after that time, though the years of hell had scarred and marred his mind and soul, and he was tired and weary of the world. He did not feel happy, just less miserable. Deciding to leave the land for good, he went to visit his mother one last time. He would tell her off, show her the Arcanine he had become, and leave her forever. It was very possible that she was even dead in those two decades that had passed, but he was actually able to find her with no real issues. The Arcanine was growing old, not looking well at all, and Halloween curled his lip as he came closer. However he never got the chance to get his closure, as she had an egg, unharmed, under her paw. Knocking her off, and disgusted that she would stoop so low, Halloween took the egg and left without another word. He never spoke to his mother again after that....only now Halloween found himself stuck with an egg that he had no clue what it was or what to do with it. He considered leaving it by a tree, but immediately bashed the thought. A newborn would die in the wild just left alone. Halloween made camp that night after a long day of considering, and he was still on the fence when suddenly the egg was exploding. Shocked, Halloween jumped away as a small blue paw emerged, then a little face and a uniquely coloured pair of eyes, red and white, almost colourless. A Shinx crawled out of the egg ad stumbled, cooing softly as it looked up at him. His resolve vanished as the little cub stared up at him. Without thinking about it, he moved forward ad surrounded the baby with his thick tail. "I am your new brother," he told her. In the days that followed, he decided to name her after another human holiday, to coexist with his, and dubbed the baby Easter. For a time life was simple but busy as Halloween grew accustomed to caring for his new sister. After a few months though, they were approached by a Liepard. She introduced herself as Adder, and said that she had been following them for some time. Instantly suspicious, Halloween did not trust her, but she offered them help, shelter and food. Halloween's resolve faltered; he had yet to become accustomed to living on his own and Easter did not make things easier. Taking a cautious shot in the dark, he agreed to stay with her for the night. However, Adder ended up being the best thing that could have happened to the pair. Halloween warmed up very quickly to the older feline and they ended up living together for a good amount of time as Easter slowly grew up. It was several years down the road of a generally easygoing life, Halloween raised his new sister under his watchful eyes, her learning to speak and explore the world precious memories the canine would always treasure. After around six or seven years, Halloween began feeling particularly attracted to the Liepard. Adder was snappy, sarcastic, and not warm at all, but for some reason he enjoyed being near her, in a much different way than he enjoyed being with his sister. A few more years going by of learning how to be wild Pokemon, teaching Easter and protecting her, Halloween eventually realised that it must be the rare thing he shared for both girls-- love. He loved his sister, and he found himself loving Adder, too. But though he cared for her, the older feline became more foul and insufferable as the years passed, snapping at Halloween and challenging ad insulting him...but the canine did not care. He would have stayed there forever. Until the day of the storm. A dry thunderstorm swept through the forest, their shelter the only thing keeping them from the rain. However, the dangers became much worse as the night went on, especially when lightning struck nearby...then on the actual structure. Topping half to the ground, Hallow ad Easter were able to flee, but Added did not follow. Desperate, he rushed back in, but the Liepard was under too much heavy debris. He begged her not t leave him, even as the fire grew more and more intense, his flame absorbing ability would not keep him safe forever, and he cried before the dying Liepard. Finally, she looked him dead in the eye and spat, "I never even cared for you. It was a favor, a favor from your fucking mom!" Shortly after the entire building collapsed, killing Adder ad leaving the siblings alone. Easter was thirteen. The next years were much easier for the pair, being older and much more knowledgeable, the siblings were happy ad thrived for several more years when their lives changed forever once more. Easter was nearing young adulthood when the environment became filthy and tainted. The apocalypse was upon them, and Halloween swore his life that he would keep his sister safe. As time dragged on, it seemed that they would be alright. Undead were simple enough to avoid and outsmart, but despite their careful planning, Easter and Halloween became separated. Sick with worry and devastated that she was gone, the Arcanine makes it his goal to find her. Easter is all that is left in the world, all that is good. He can't let her down. |
Appearance | "Arcanine is a quadruped, canine Pokémon with an orange pelt marked by jagged black stripes. It has diamond-shaped ears with beige insides, black eyes, a round, black nose, and two pointed teeth protruding from its upper jaw. Its head, muzzle, and chest are covered in shaggy, beige fur, except for two oval sections around each eye and ear. Long tufts of fur grow behind its elbows and around its ankles. Its underside is black, and it has a billowing, beige tail that is bent in the middle. Each paw has three toes and a round, pink pad." -Bulbapedia Pretty average for his species, Halloween looks like a normal Arcanine, the only real difference being his eyes; the canine's iris' are a deep emerald green, the left eye noticeably yellower than the right. |
Personality | PROS: Honest, sincere, brilliantly intelligent, clever, unafraid CONS: Blunt, harsh, cold, merciless, fierce temper, untrusting, paranoid, hateful, socially awkward, sarcastic, closed off OTHER: not talkative, quiet, stoic -Despite his horrible personality, Halloween is honest to a fault and completely sincere when he means it. Borderline impossible to earn his trust, but once done, he is loyal to the very death. -Not one to be all warm and feely, in fact Halloween very rarely will show any kind of emotion, both in his expression and tone. |
User Notes | -Based off of my own Original Character Halloween. -Asexual, though does not actually know this or consider himself this, he simply has no interest. (And on that note, heterosexual.) -Infernape father -I imagine his flash fire ability to almost be similar to fire bending; when hit with a special fire type attack the flames would kind of dissipate around him then swirl for a few seconds, and if he uses his own Flamethrower technique in that small amount of time, those flames will combine with his attack to make it even stronger. If he uses Flare Blitz, his body would become almost twice as hot as it would be normally for that move and if smashed into an object, it would explode and melt midair, but when used on an enemy, the undead could literally boil and cook in their own skin and fall over dead. -It goes without saying that Halloween and Easter are not blood related, and deep down she kind of knows that, but their bond is built on what they have not what they're missing, and they will always consider each other brother and sister. -Halloween was haunted by a group of ghost Pokemon growing up, just having horrible luck in attracting their attention. They simply kept invisible around other people and Pokemon and were never seen by anyone other than their muse, Halloween. -Easter had evolved to a Luxio a few years back (kinda lost a way to ,mention that in the history) -Already approved, old profile is here. |

History | An egg that was nothing more than an unwanted token for a trained after his strongest proved to have an affair, it was discarded without a thought. Left in a forest, the egg never knew the danger it was in, nor who had rescued it, all the baby Shinx knew was that when she hatched... it was warm. So very warm and soft. The giant thing that saw her that first night held her close. "I am your new brother," he assured her, and though the words did not make sense, the kit felt safe. Oblivious to the trauma of before her life, the Shinx was happy. She was named Easter, to make a matching pair with her big brother. The beginning of her life was full of moving from place to place, being quiet, and following her brother around. Hunting was difficult and the kit got into trouble when left alone, so of course those chances to be by herself became slim to none after a few years. However when she was very young, Halloween was approached by a Liepard named Adder. Easter didn't understand what was said, but her brother seemed tense so she was on guard, too. However they ended up going along with the Liepard and staying with her overnight. However food was plentiful and shelter was good, so Halloween explained that they would be staying there for an undefined amount of time. Easter did not mind; oblivious to tension, she bounced around and played happily for the first time properly in her life. For many years the three lived together in the home. Halloween seemed happy and they got to spend a lot more time doing important things, like learning, instead of simply hunting 24/7. Easter learned to speak then about the world and anything else the Arcanine wanted to teach her. Life was normal and easy for many years. Oblivious to any tension or hard feelings, the occasional snapping from Adder was ignored. Too naive to see anything wrong with it, Easter lived a good childhood. Until she was around thirteen years old, anyway. Suddenly a fire swept through the forest and the home. The siblings were able to flee in time, but Adder did not follow. Halloween rushed back after her, but in in end it was too late. Easter was able to see the difference in her brother after that; he was hardened...not as fun and goofy as he used to be. But regardless, the pair lived easily enough for many years after, even finding her own evolution in that time. They slowly healed from the loss of their hoe and thrived in the wild. However, life was not set to work in their favour forever, and the sickness ravaged the land like the plague it is. The pair fled together from the undead, Halloween always taking care of her and protecting her. But the worst happened when they were roughly separated and unable to find each other afterwards. Initially Easter was optimistic. Her brother always found her. But when more and more time passed... things were difficult on the Luxio. At one point, her dreams started becoming dangerous... dark, haunted with a dark spectre and a bright, Cheshire grinning face. "Tell me, tell me, what shall I see?" It haunted her, during waking hours she was uneasy, on edge. Glancing over her shoulder every few minutes... always feeling like she was being watched. "Tell me, tell me, where will they be? What can we be, when all is decaying? Where will we find ourselves, when all is ending? Tell me, tell me... are you filled with dream?" After a few days... her insides began to droop. She felt as if she were becoming nothing, not even a depression or a sorrow, just a big nothing in her chest, in her life. "Tell me, tell me, are you dead?" It drained her. It was killing her. It had been only a few days but it felt like years had passed. Everything about her was not worth it. Doubts about her brother surfaced... he wasn't even looking for her, was he? There was no way he actually cared... "Tell me, tell me, shall I drag you TO HELL?" But then it just... stopped. More exhausted than she could ever recall being, the Luxio was tired in every physical and emotional sense of the word. She has lost all hope of finding her brother, all hope of just...surviving. But at the same time she refuses to give up, the stubborn part of her keeping her alive. |
Appearance | "Luxio is a feline, quadruped Pokémon resembling a young lynx or lion. Blue and black fur covers most of its body. Its ears, face, hind paws, and front half of its body are blue, while its hindquarters are black. Additionally, Luxio has a tufty black mane surrounding its face. The mane is longer on the male Luxio, while the fur on the hind paws extends to ankles on the female. The insides of its rounded are yellow, as are its eyes. There are two yellow rings around each front leg and a yellow, four-point star on the tip of its tail." Fluffy and youthful looking, her fur is about average length but tends to be ruffled or hanging haphazardly off her sides. Mischievous, she is not afraid to get a little dirt on her fur and it shows, Easter normally sporting dirt patches or specks of blood even. Despite the effort put into keeping herself clean, it is not whole hearted, and she forgets to clean herself often. Of average colour for the most part, the only thing setting her apart are her eyes; both completely white and devoid of colour, only slight shifts in shade giving clue of iris to pupil. The exception being her right iris, which is a bold red. On each of her eat tips there are a pair of red and white earrings, as well as two white ones on the bottom outer edge, resulting in a total of eight. Around her neck is a tight white collar, with a small red tag sporting a white plus sign (+). Despite how tight it appears, the cloth is actually breathable and does not hinder her. On her tail is a matching tag on a string tied around her tail, with the same red back ground and white plus sign. |
Personality | fierce, fiery, clever, loyal, scathing a fighter to the end, will rather die that go against beliefs curses quite a bit innocent, naive crushed, suspicious, drained, unsure, lonely desperate to find brother- unsure of if he is even alive now |
User Notes | -Adoptive sister of Halloween the Arcanine and based upon my own OC, design shown here, and admittedly partially based off of Ellie from The Last of Us. -Father was a Manectric -The ghost who stalked her was actually the Harbinger Mismagius. She only followed Easter for a week, not killing her, but haunting her dreams and waking hours, to see if she could snap a Pokemon without ever showing her true self. Due to the emotional damage, Easter has become hardened, cynical, depressed. A darker version of her past self. (permission given) -It goes without saying that Halloween and Easter are not blood related, and deep down she kind of knows that, but their bond is built on what they have not what they're missing, and they will always consider each other brother and sister. -Refers to Halloween solely as Big Brother, only will use his name in serious instances. -Already approved, profile is here. |
