"Wait, we're leaving? Are we going back home?"

The tentative words of the Nuzleaf turned Khan's attention to him. He appeared anxious, as if he didn't want to leave this place. It was understandable, seeing as Haze was probably from around this area.

"We are not from around here," he told the Nuzleaf flatly. "We are from Johto, the neighbouring region. How we got here is ... a long story. But I understand if you wish to remain here in your homeland. However, it would be wise to come with us, for you will be exceptionally vulnerable on your own."

The Lucario turned back to Ken as the Honchkrow spoke: "Well there's nothing in this town of any use to us, not anymore anyway. But that doesn't mean we have to go back to Johto just yet. We should check out his new region a little more, find other cities or towns and see what they have before we come to a decision on whether to stay or go back."

Khan did agree with him, but it seemed that there was some sort of magnet in Johto that was longing to pull him back there. Perhaps it had something to do with the fact that he had spent his childhood days travelling around Johto with Eva, but, somehow, the region felt like his home. Out of all the different regions he could've traveled to, he chose to return there. He wanted to fight for it, to protect it from the Infected.

But Ken's idea seemed like the most logical option, as well as the fact that it was unfair to either leave Haze behind or force him to go with them. He could return home to Johto in his own time; when he had nothing more to do for his new friends. He wasn't prepared to lose them just yet.

"You're right," he said, nodding. "Let's head back to the town and see if anyone's there, or if there's anything there that will be useful to us." He turned to the sleeping Venonat on the ground beside him. "But what about this one...? Do you think you can carry him on your back, Ken?"

She didn’t know how it happened, maybe the day’s events had taken a lot more out of her than she figured, or maybe the warm fuzzy feeling of having a family was renewed so much that it made her momentarily at peace, but Nora Bates had fallen asleep during the night, only to be welcomed by the warm glow of the sun when she opened her eyes. Some movement was what had awakened her, her baby Norman was no longer in his pouch, but Little Maxwell was right next to her, looking off to the side. She momentarily panicked, thinking something had come to steal her babies away during the night, which was what the pikachu was looking at. She suddenly shot up and placed a hand in front of the pichu, but when no danger came she was puzzled. The thing he was looking at was the leftovers of yesterday’s ‘feast’, now only thing that was left was bitten bones and rotting flesh that gave off an awful pungent odor. There next to the pile was Norman, sifting through the trash for anything remotely edible. He liked his food fresh, these leftovers would do him no good, and she suspected that her new child would have the same feelings.

She silently cursed at herself for letting advantage of the dark escape her, she could have gotten a new victim for their breakfast, but all that went to waste, now her babies where awake and hungry, it would be a matter of time before Norman started acting up if he didn’t get his food. Nora grimily stuffed her two babies into her pouch, “Don’t worry, I’ll find you both food if it’s the last thing I do….” making sure Norman’s mask was securely fastened like she did after waking up from a nap, though she pondered momentarily if the Pikachu would eventually need a mask such as this one….she might have to raid a pokemon shelter to find one, like she did with Norman’s. He would not like it at first like Norman, but it would stop him from trying to bite a hole through her pouch.

The only pokemon she knew that where within the nearby location were the ones that wanted to hurt her babies. She didn’t want to put them in harm’s way, but they were most likely the only chance at getting food for them anytime soon. It took some time to retract her steps to where she had lost them, but when she got close she could hear talking. Those idiots stayed in practically the same spot, making her job all the much easier. Nora gently pushed both of their heads deeper into the pouch, motioning with her pointer finger to her lips that they need to remain quiet. She had made the mistake of rushing in so fast the first time, this time she will view them from afar and attack when they split up.

"I'm from Hoenn and uh...I have no one to go back to..." He looked down in shame. He hated talking about himself. "Besides," he began. "I don't even know how to get back. Actually, I don't even know how I got here so if you really don't mind it, I'll take up your offer and tag along with you guys."

Everyone seemed to agree with Kens idea of exploring this new region, which would have made him smile if his beak allowed it. He was also glade to hear that Haze was going to be coming along with them.
"Let's head back to the town and see if anyone's there, or if there's anything there that will be useful to us." Khan said and it made Ken frown. It was like he didn't even hear him say that there was nothing left in this town.
"I already said theres nothing here. While I was looking for food while the rest of you where still sleeping, I checked every house and there was nothing. Just a bunch of dead bodies and blood." It made him shiver remembering it. "But if you still think that theres something there that I may have missed, then I wont argue." He said as he looked back in the direction of Pallet Town. "And I don't mind carrying Venonat on my back, as long as he wont mind it."

"I was referring to any leftover supplies that may aid us," the Lucario explained patiently. "I spent a lot of my youth in the company of humans, and I know that they have access to a wide range of medicinal items. Super Potions, for example, are much better than berries at healing injuries." Khan turned his head upwards towards the crimson sunrise and welcomed the warmth that caressed his scarred face. "What I meant was that we head there and see if there are any of these medicines left over. They might be useful if we brought them along with us."

"I'm not from around here!" Haze suddenly exclaimed, sounding irritated. "I'm from Hoenn and uh...I have no one to go back to ... Besides, I don't even know how to get back. Actually, I don't even know how I got here so if you really don't mind it, I'll take up your offer and tag along with you guys."

"Of course you may," said Khan, turning to the Nuzleaf and nodding. Again, he tried to smile, but his face wouldn't let him. "The more of us there are, the better."

He was getting tired of being so serious all the time ... He never used to be like this before the Epidemic ... before Eva died...

Maxwell slid silently into his mother's pouch, staring into Norman's blood red eyes. Dark, malevolent, hungry, though at the same time they had an emptiness within them, as if there were no emotion held within Norman's heart. The Pikachu shivered, not because the eyes bore into his soul, but because, somewhere in his mind, he registered that his eyes were becoming like that also. Am... I dying? The very thought scared the electric type beyond belief. Of course he wasn't dying! If he were, he wouldn't be able to move, or talk, or think...

The Mouse Pokemon looked up to his mother, seeking just a little bit of comfort, and he got so much more; in her eyes, he saw determination and power, and love and protectiveness. I wish... to be like that... Yes, not the empty eyes like Norman, but the hardened eyes of his mom, strength exuding simply through her bold eyes. He wasn't dying, if he lived up to how his mother was. He'd follow her footsteps and live.

His Kangaskhan mother pushed both he and Norman's head even deeper into the pouch as she moved forward, Maxwell closing his eyes in thought. Blood... The Pikachu cocked his head to the side in question. Why, of all places, would he think of blood? He had never thought of how warm... and luscious... and delicious... Maxwell grabbed the paw of Norman in desperation, or the memory of, not sure of what was happening. It began with the disappearing memories, the inability to speak, and now, horrid thoughts of blood? What's... happening... to me?

Just as Maxwell thought that this madness would kill him, he caught scent of something that seemed to rejoice 'life'. Blood. Shivering, with thrill rather than fear this time, the Pikachu tugged on his mother's pouch. "Let me... fight... please?" Tugging the words out of his slow mind, but his lust for blood and vigor to help his mother helped make up his mind; he was going for blood.

It was going well so far, the food sources had not taken noticed of them moving in closer. She was lucky that Norman was not throwing a fit at the moment, sometimes when she needed to stalk someone, his hunger would get too much, causing him to squirm uncontrollably and scratch at the inside of her pouch. They had all waken up already, except for one of them, the purple bug. It also happened to be the smallest of the bunch, under normal circumstances that one would be the obvious easiest target, but from her first run in with the group, she quickly learned that they look out for each other, and are never far from each other. She suspected that if she did indeed go for the youngest and smallest, then they would band together, causing a recap of earlier events.

She would need to pick off the strongest of the group, the leader would be most desirable, from past experiences with groups she had learned that if the leader was taken out, the rest of the group would go into disarray. They would either panic and make it easier to ambush them, or they would argue amongst themselves over what to do next or about who would be the next leader, making it easier to sneak up on them in the distraction. In this group, the lucario seemed the most like the leader. Though from the fight earlier, the honchkrow seemed the strongest, a very perplexing situation….

The tugging on her pouch brought her out of the musing and planning. She first suspected that it would be Norman complaining about food, but it was Maxwell. She flinched at the sound when he began to speak, knowing that even small sounds could seem louder in quiet woods. But his plead caught her totally off guard. He wanted to fight, to both help and to put himself in danger. She would never think about putting one of her babies in danger, all his life Norman was kept safely in her pouch, but now that she thought of it, it was because he was so young, so innocent, without any chance of survival. Which only made her think if it would be different if he could defend himself. This Pikachu can defend itself, that was noticeable, but she was skeptical when against these pokemon. But she could not get the look of his eyes out of her head…..

She didn’t want him to get hurt…..but she wanted to give him anything and everything he wanted…..but what he wanted could get him hurt……..To put it lightly, she was torn on this subject……Reluctantly she nodded to quietly accept his decision. Nora gently took him out of the pouch and set him on the ground. If things went well it could mean they could get food twice as fast, and if anyone hurt him, she will pummel it into a bloody pulp. It might mean having to keep an eye on him in battle, but she didn’t care, she was going to stay close to him, and pounce on anything that got too close.

((too me it seems a bit long winded.....so sorry about that >.<))

    "Very well. Let's move."

Khan pushed aside the bushes and wandered back onto the main path and turned left towards Pallet Town. Walking briskly, he occasionally turned round to check that the rest of the group were following him. Venonat was still asleep on Ken's back, oblivious to what they were doing and where they were going.

The Lucario suddenly felt a little awkward at walking ahead of the others. It was making him feel like he was leading them somewhere which they were reluctant to go to. He wasn't meant to be the leader, and neither did he feel comfortable about behaving like one. He deliberately slowed down slightly, so that he was walking alongside the group instead of ahead of them. He found himself next to Haze.

"Haze," he said, "I am curious. How did you come to be here in Johto?" He was merely asking the question to aid in creating a friendly atmosphere, but he couldn't help but feel a pang of wonder towards how the Nuzleaf had come so far.

Maxwell stared into his mother's deep and alluring eyes, his breath soft and unusually slow as he imagined his mom simply pushing him further into the pouch. Yet, after a moment's hesitation, the Kangaskhan picked him up tenderly and placed him on the ground with a gentle caress. It was a silent exchange that she would allow him to fight - that is, if he were careful. If I put my mind to it, I can. The Pikachu walked on all fours (otherwise, Maxwell noticed that he tumbled often) beside his mother quietly, watching with keen eyes the group they were following.

For some reason, putting his mind to a goal seemed... off. Was there... ever a... time that I did...? If there were, Maxwell could no longer remember such a time. The Pikachu crept through a shrub with silent focus, keeping his eyes on the living blood (all the while making sure he stayed near his mother). Why was he thinking too hard on this topic? If I... don't remember... What you don't know can't hurt you. Someone, some time, somewhere long ago had told the Pikachu that. His lost memories was the only thing blocking him from placing his paw upon it.

Maxwell stopped to climb onto his mother's back, perching himself on her should like a Chatot would to a pirate (if his blank memory served correctly). Nuzzling into her neck, the Pikachu watched the living Pokemon wander through the woods, unsuspecting of their unknown ambush. Even he didn't know when exactly they would begin their charge. Mother... will know... His strong, powerful mother, the figure in his life that stood for what he wished to be. He'd protect her, protect her from any coming harm. Together they'd be near impossible to defeat at any given moment.

He didn’t go running off straight into danger, she was expecting that, but she was glad he did not, it showed her that he was not reckless, one thing less to worry about during a fight. Instead he climbed up on top of her, taking a spot on her shoulder. It felt weird, she was so used to having her child in her pouch, but this wasn’t so bad either, plus, if he was going to fight, it would take some time get out of the pouch so that he may jump into action…. She wasn’t sure if he was making a fuss over Maxwell being able to ride her shoulders, or if his hunger was growing, but Little Norman was biting at the flesh in her pouch. She could feel that he had broken the skin, as he was now sucking at the blood that was flowing out of the wound. He would only grow more aggravated as time went by, there would be no time to fully survey the prey this time.

If she had her way, they would get the purple bug and run, taking the smallest of the group and effectively reducing the number of the group size. But it was riding with the honchkrow, so that was no good. So from what she had seen, the second weakest would most likely be the grass type, the one with the pointy nose. She pointed at it so that the Pikachu might get the meaning, that that was their target. If he was ready for his first kill or not was still under question, but time was running short, they were dispersing, no longer in that tight circle where they may communicate freely, and with the bird carrying the bud, it would not be able to fight as well without putting it down, if it came to that, their target would switch. And if her child’s lightning attacks where anything to brag about, then this fight might end quicker than she though.

As she pounced, the lucario in the lead slowed down to be next to the target, she silently cursed at this since it would rule out the grab and run tactic. But she compensated by aiming for the back of its head with a dizzy punch, before attacking the grass type with a mega punch.

    ((had to write this quickly....))

Khan had slowed his pace and was walking next to Haze. "Haze, I am curious. How did you come to be here in Johto?" The question was sudden and Haze felt uncomfortable answering. "I...uh...don't feel like talking about it. Look all I know is that woke up on the shore by Pallet Town." For some strange reason, Haze felt like they were being watched but he just brushed away the feeling.

From out of nowhere something very strong hit Khan sending him into the ground. Haze looked up and saw the large beast and her child from before. Not only that, but the yellow rodent from before had evolved and had joined them. Haze in his shock barely noticed that the beast was unleashing an attack his father called "Mega Punch". He knew this attack was powerful but was also inaccurate. His small size lacked much power but increased his agility. He dodged the attack and ran towards Ken. "Ken, help! Khan's hurt!" Haze then went to check on his injured friend. "Wake up, Khan... Please wake up..."

    Pallet Town|Morning(31)

Venonat was dreaming...He could see a Cacturne, his best friend. It was alive and well, Venonat was living with it...But suddenly, in a blink of an eye, the Cacturne started to become covered in blood, the eyes became a crimson and digusting red, his segmented mouth was torn open into a monstrous set of jaws as it started to roar...not a normal type of roar it seemed unnatural and animalistic not normal for Cacturnes.

When the small bug noticed around him there were shadows projected all around. They looked evil and demented, they were large and intimidating. He couldn't tell what they were but they started tugging violently at the venonat trying to stretch him as if wanting to force him to grow up...No he didn't wanted to grow up...he didn't wanted to evolve.

The Young Bug type woke up startled and noticed what was going on, the Kanghaskhan was back and so was a strange yellow mouse. It was an evolved form from the Pichu that she took with her...the pichu evolved? And now was going to take away his friends...Venonat didn't wanted that. He would save his friends. Venonat attempted to use a Confusion attack on the Pichu while using a Signal beam on the Kanghaskhan, the possibilities of him really doing any good were minimal...but he would try.

Khan looked down at the Nuzleaf intently. He had not received the response that he had been hoping for, and his curiosity only grew each second. His expression retained its usual hard stare as he nodded, trying to understand why Haze didn't want to speak. He knew how painful it could be to revisit old memories.

"I see. How unfortunate. I do hope that you will--"

He sensed the aura only for a split second. It was coming straight towards them, and was mere inches away from him. Before he could even turn to warn the others, the back of Khan's head exploded with pain and he was unconscious before he had even hit the ground.

Perched upon his mother's shoulder, the two (or three, if Norman was included) of them charged into battle with luster. He pounced with agile from her shoulder, landing gracefully as he spun on his fore paw to face the battle. All around him he could smell blood and how it called to him with a sweet voice. The Pikachu used Double Team with ease, remembering - but not actually remembering - that he had been trained to do so. However, his illusions of himself were quickly taken out by an unseen force, but with a quick glance towards the Venonat, Maxwell knew that they had been outed by a Confusion.

No! Whatever vigor drove him, the electric type could not stand how his prey fought back. Watching how his mother had quickly taken out that Lucario with awe and respect, Maxwell gritted his teeth and hew found determination. I'll have to do just as much. The Pikachu growled as he stepped back from the scene, before hurtling himself to the top of a tree that overlooked all the fighting Pokemon.

His red cheeks began to execute static, and his growl growing along with the static electricity flowing through his body. I... don't remember much... Maxwell let meaningless tears drop from his eyes, feigning the far-off memory of sadness. He doesn't remember what had happened years ago, what happened a few months back, or what even happened just this week. Everything... was gone. Vanished into blank brain cells in his ever-emptying mind. The electric type shook his head as he stood on all fours, glaring down at the Pokemon that would be his food.

Maxwell let out an anguished cry for all that he lost - friends he doesn't remember, family he no longer loved, a trainer he was no longer committed to. At that cry, he let out a large amount of electric energy from the morning sky, the flash blinding the Pikachu's vision as he imagined his Thunder reigning down upon their battlefield. This is my pain, the pain I don't feel, the feelings I can't show.

Things were going far better than Nora had expected. The blow to the back of the lucario’s head proved much more effective, sending the thing flying into an unconscious state. She would have run off with the body right there and then, but Maxwell had run off as soon as the burning sensation had hit her. That small pitiful bug had launched an attack on her, hitting her side. It hurt a bit, but it hardly did any damage, just left the spot where it hit with an annoying burning sensation.

Nora had a slight panic attack after the bug’s attack, when she noticed that the Pikachu was no longer on her shoulders, but it went away as she saw it climb a tree. It was an electric type, so it must have had more long ranged attacks than short ranged, and if it was farther away from them it was less likely to get hurt, making it the perfect location, needless to say she was happy with his idea.

With her attention not needed as much on her child, she turned back to the target, the grass type who managed to dodge her attack. It was huddling over the lucario, screaming for help, looking absolutely defenseless and ripe for the taking. One well-placed hammer arm would be all she needed to give it the same fate as the lucario, but she sent out 2 just to be on the safe side. She would have kept going but the wailing of his baby in her pouch stopped her.

Little Norman had starting struggling in the pouch, something was off. When he would have an aggressive attack, he would gradually grow into it as his hunger increases, but this was too sudden and out of the blue. It took a moment, but she eventually felt why he had gotten like that, the air felt different, like a thunderstorm was on the way. At the thought of thunderstorms Nora shot her attention towards Maxwell, the Pikachu was launching a massive attack, but he was young still, the chance of missing was still present. She could most likely withstand the attack, but it was Norman who got her attention, so she did what any mother would do, she huddled over her pouch using her entire body to protect him and prepared an endure.

((Not too sure who the target was, looked like it was aimed at the entire area |D))

Everything was going well until the Kangaskhan showed up again, probably looking to kill one of them for more food for that think in her pouch. Before Ken could do anything it struck Khan in the back of the head. "Khan!" Ken shouted. Venonat had managed to hit her with a signal bean, which gave Ken enough time to grab Khan and pull him to safety.
"Look after him." Ken said to Haze before flying in between Khan and the Kangaskhan. If you want to fight someone then fight me!" He shouted at the almost tailless Kangaskhan. He only had two attacks that would do damage, the others wouldn't do anything as they where ghost type attacks.
The Honchkrow's wing tips began to glow a dark light as he opened them up, then he brought them done as he used a double Night Slash on it. Not really caring if it hit or not, as long as it kept it from getting to his friends, that was good enough for him.

The Insect jumped and run to avoid the large lightning falling down untill he hide in a hole that possible was a home of a previous ground type pokemon. Even though he did run away it didn't ment he would give up...He can be strong and he shall be...Without showing the need of evolving.
He started to shake his body unleashing a cloud of Poison Powder he than blew it towards the Kangaskhan, fortunatelly it will be a surprise when it will start making effect.

He was pleased but frown when he remembered the other problem...The Pikachu...

He was moving, but he didn't know where. He heard a distant voice, but had no idea who it was. Everything had vanished into blackness which was gradually pulling Khan further in. It was quiet, so peaceful ... He wanted to stay. He wanted to rest for a while, that was all--

    No!

His eyes felt like they had been glued shut. He tried with all his might to open them.

    I must--

He eventually succeeded. He was lying on his back looking up at the treetops above. They were blurred, spinning. Was he lying on a merry-go-round? It certainly felt that way.

He tried to sit up, but the moment he moved his head even slightly an incredible pain burst through the back of his skull and ran down the back of his neck into his spine. He couldn't remember the last time he had felt pain like it. The angry dinosaur-thing without a tail had done more damage than he ever would've expected. But why had she even attacked him in the first place? What had he done wrong?

His mind was just as blurred as his vision as he sat up very slowly, being careful not to move his head too much, and observed what was going on. Everything was still spinning, but he spotted a Honchkrow (Ken...) and a Venonat (and Venonat, yes..) trying to fend off the Kangaskhan (Of course!) that was putting up one heck of a fight. He spied a small, yellow Pokemon on top of one of the nearby trees releasing bursts of bright yellow light (Maxwell...) onto the ground around them. Ken in particular would be vulnerable to this. He had to help.

Hunching his shoulders to keep his head as still as possible, Khan wobbled to his feet. He remembered everything now, even though it was still a little vague. Haze was standing next to him, and would no doubt try to stop him from attacking in this state. To save the Nuzleaf the trouble, he staggered forward into a run, trying to maintain a straight line as the world continued to distort all around him.

He clenched his fist as it began to glow and ran straight at the Kangaskhan with no letup. Force Palm was the only move that he had which would show a significant result. Aiming at her chest, he thrust his glowing paw straight at her as it burst into bright light.

Not certain whether Force Palm had hit or not, he continued to run past her after the attack before falling to his knees, crying out as the pain in his head intensified.

The Pikachu slumped on his tree branch, gasping for breath and his cheeks crackling with energy, but the mouse had never felt so alive. He sat there, fake tears falling down his face, his yellow fur spiked up on the static, yet Maxwell felt nothing and certainly noticed how the blood's scent seemed to drift towards him, even up to here. It nearly put him in a daze, a reddish color that seemed to float into his vision, and he staggered to the tip of the branch he resided upon. What was he doing? The further out he was, the more likely he were to fall. I... don't know... His body seemed to move on its on, a growling coming from within him instinctively.

The electric type flinched, but he did not stop. "Help..." He moaned, his emotionless voice begging for control of his body again. He easily leaped down back into the fray, his eyes flashing a dark red. Maxwell yearned to jerk away, to move despite his hunger for their blood. The thought that there was something within his brain, with enough power to steal his sense of movement and to do as it pleased, scared the Pikachu. "Stop... me..." His sluggish words came out, Maxwell trying to step back as his body continued to move forward. In one quick motion, he had used Double Team, and fake copies of himself created a half-circle around one side of the battlefield.

He stared into the large eyes of the Venonat, his once-childish mind tearing up. He felt his eyes glaring mercilessly, another growl emitting from himself. He wasn't doing this. He wasn't acting upon his own will. His brain was not in its functioning form; indeed, there was a stranger controlling him, a blind persecutor within his mind. And he wanted it to stop. The Pikachu let out a slow moan, feeling his feet move forward once again. "Stop..."

What was he doing? Apparently, he had stepped too far out of his mind's reach, and in consequence, a monster had taken control. Meaningless tears were falling from his face, his face dead set on blank, but Maxwell felt it in his (non-moving...) heart that he wanted this to end. He was suddenly simply a shell as someone else took center stage. The Pikachu darted forward, attempting to use Slam upon the Venonat. Help... me...

If Nora had not used her endure, things would have gone horrible in seconds. That wretched bird was proving more problematic than she figured….Attacking her with his blasted slash attacks, both of which hitting her back as she continued to cover her pouch which had her baby in it. She continued to wait a bit after the thunder struck in case of a second attack from her electric child, and if it wasn’t for that the fighting type attack would have put her and her baby in a horrible situation. It was aimed at her chest, but since she was in her endure position protecting Norman, the attack hit her arms which covered her pouch and chest. The sheer force of the attack sent her sliding backwards; her arms going numb, and leaving her trying to regain the breath that was forcibly knocked out of her.

Things were going bad, as she feared, the lucario was proving more trouble than it was worth, they could have run off with one of the other pokemon were it not for that thorn in the plans. Her instincts were to run for now and try to get them later when they didn’t expect it, but they were so close, and Norman and Maxwell would get hungry soon, she would hate to see them go hungry.

Nora was getting tired, the only reason she was able to send that lucario flying and knock it out was because she had put most of her strength into it, then those massive attacks from the bird and the fighting type…her only hope was that the lucario was worse for wear than she was. She went after it again, the bird was not too much to worry about, so she ignored it as she launched a hammer arm at the lucario.
