"Watch it." He huffed at Adalia, licking one paw and swiping it over an ear. Stopping mid-motion Eleroo's ears flicked straight up, quivering slightly as eery cries could be heard in the distance.
Undead. It was getting cold now that the sun was gone, but the chill that ran down his spine wasn't natural.
"Shit," Faustus mumbled, looking about for the unseen sources. Xander also heard the dangers, though they were heard to miss, and quickly devised a plan to avoid them that he explained to the rest of the group.
"On the count of three, you better run like you never ran ever in your life. I'll try whatever I can, but if you fall behind... I can't guarantee I could fetch you back. You better not fall." Well that sounded.. risky. With a heavy sigh though Eleroo had to agree there wasn't much else they could do. There was plenty of rope within the Pokemart that Xander used to tie the foodstuffs to the Eeveelutions like saddlebags, as well as one to allow Adalia some guidance via Faustus. With the bags to his sides, the stubborn Eevee was able to take the candies in his mouth. Good.
They were to run in pairs to a house not too far away. Luckily the Phanteon would go first, leading the way for the Eevee's. Things seemed to slow down. Xander counted to three, the launch point, and the ghost type burst away from the group dragging the blind Espeon behind him. Apprehension made the Eleroo's browns paws wait before starting his run. From ahead he could hear the call,
"You ain't gon' get me, filth!" Well, at least he was alright. The Espeon behind him was stumbling to say the least as she attempted to keep up and dodge anything in her way though it was impossible to see.
Gathering his courage Eleroo dashed out after the pair of older Eeveelutions with Joshua at his side. Though running felt clunky and disorganized with all the added weight to his body he pressed on as the growls and whines of the undead fast approached. The lavender twin-tail lead the way for the Eevee but as the lead rounded a boulder he had to make a sharp, sudden jerk to narrowly avoid it. Joshua on the other hand didn't have as much warning and crashed against it with a loud
smack.
Adalia seemed to of dropped her rope at the sound, slowing her stride so she could turn to help her companion. What the blind creature could do to help, Eleroo didn't know, so he simply pressed past her. Shrieks from the undead sounded so close that his brown pelt stood on end, speeding his dash until he could see the dim shape of Faustus once more.
There was a flash, with the corner of his eye Eleroo saw a set of claws narrowly miss his face. Whatever had tired to hit him, stumbled away after missing with crimson eyes blazing. His small brown paws were uncontrollable for a few moments, skirting the ground with uncertainty. He was barely able to recover them with only a sparing glance at the undead heading back to where he had been. To where, the others were.
Eleroo didn't notice his paws were slowing down. His glance changed to a stare back at his tracks, not caring to avoid any debris in his way as he ran. Sounds of undead, cackling animal-like noises filled the area as dark shadows moved in like a plague. There voices were dwarfed by the pain-filled shrieks of a young male and female voice. The pleas of torment pounded against Eleroo's eardrums. His brown eyes squeezed shut as he ran forward.
I can't do anything.. With each cry a veil of cold coursed through his body that threatened to stop him all together.
Im sorry.
His pads felt the floor of the refuge. Safe in the house, the Eevee collapsed to the ground heavily panting. The screams continued to cause his ears to quiver for a few more moments before they stopped altogether. Stopped, forever. His panting stopped, withheld on his tongue. With a small gasp in and a longing stare to Faustus, the Eevee whimpered meekly,
"They're gone.." ((Harbing both Joshua and Adalia.
Since Xander was in the back, patch things in if you want Keb.))
