| User Notes | Design is based off various black dog myths and other similar types of myths, considering Houndoom is based off hellhounds I wanted to keep the same sort of theme despite wanting something ghost-affiliated. Specifically based off the Cadejo, which is said to have deer and dog like traits and has a white and black version that either protects travelers and drunks, or is there to kill them. The pokedex entry and the difference in the normal and shiny colors are supposed to reflect this. Also loosely based off the Cŵn Annwn, Gwyllgi and Gytrash Despite having a deer-like face, the Houndwight's mouth is filled with canine-like teeth. The feet are detatched from the body, though it can still move as though they are still solid limbs. Females have shorter horns than males, males have longer antlers. Art is done by me. Just a rough thing to get the idea down, can do a more refined version later if needed. |
