His self-image is incredibly warped, to the point where he sees himself not as a true living person, but rather as abstract concepts (an example being, say, justice or mercy) made flesh. Whatever damage is done to him means nothing, because tools can always be fixed or replaced. Thanks to his extremely strict upbringing, Vergil is similar to what many might consider the ideal soldier, demonstrating self-discipline, patience, and the ability to follow orders without hesitation or question. He is always on guard, watchful, and never seems to take things lightly. Vergil doesn't have a strong sense of humor or even fun in general, which is understandable, as he was raised without most of the carefree ways typically associated with children. He's not socially experienced, and prefers solitude over company. Vergil usually doesn't say anything, and if asked about it, he will likely tell you he is not an interesting person. It is difficult to get him to open up about himself even a little, and he rebuffs attempts to befriend him. Vergil never expects to be around people for any significant amount of time, and thus, emotional attachment is pointless, potentially even harmful. Vergil is not extremely religious, but he does have a spiritual side, holding an affinity for a few Legendary Pokemon associated with nature. During certain times, he will say prayers to them, or ask them to guide him. As it is with everything personal to him, Vergil tends to keep his religious tendencies to himself, and isn't willing to talk about them with the vast majority of other people.
