History | Snowbelle was bred for her albinism and soft, fluffy fur to be appealing to rich people looking for a pet, and almost as soon as she hatched, she was sold off to a family for a holiday gift. As soon as the holiday rolled around, she was given to a really young child who was expected to take care of her. The child was much younger than the usual age for kids to be entrusted with the sole care of a Pokemon, and she was also really young to be given to such an unexperienced owner. The child refused to put her down even when she wanted to go play or do other things, and one day she accidentally clawed the kid trying to get away. She hadn't meant to actually hurt the kid, but the child had neglected to clip her nails. Which meant that when she pawed at them to let go, she scraped off some skin. The child, unfortunately, dropped her like a hot rock and immediately hated his present. The parents were infuriated when the kid bawled to them about their "mean bunny," and they sold her off to a different family without any explanation. New family gave her to yet another child, and this time she was locked up in a cage when the kid didn't want to deal with her. As the novelty wore off, she was stuck in the cage more and more. This lead to immense boredom and nervous chewing and bored eating. The kid started to forget to feed her and the parents didn't double check, which made her chewing habit worse, and she was getting incredibly angry. She started ramming into the cage walls to make it move or something, and anything that entered the cage was torn to shreds. The parents thought the rabbit was rabid, and it wasn't until she was staring down the barrel of a gun that she calmed down. Not really because her mood was stable, but because she knew that the metal device would kill her. The parents then interrogated their child and realized that she had severely neglected the Buneary, and that was probably what caused the rabbit's anger. Figuring that their child was unfit to take care of the Buneary and unable to fix the problem the child had caused, they took her to an orphanage and dropped her off. For the first time in her life, she was allowed to roam outside and actually interact with other Pokemon, and she could not handle it properly. She defaulted to what she had always known, which was anger and mistrust and lead to her exploding more than once at the other Pokemon. The owners of the orphanage realized that her issues ran deep, and that the families that had her before had horribly treated her. They had to limit her exposure to other Pokemon since she reacted so poorly. When she was inside the house, she tended to chew everything, and it didn't take long to realize it wasn't boredom or old habits. She was doing it out of spite. They were at their wit's end trying to make her behave but allowing her to potentially recover, but she wouldn't let anyone close to her physically or emotionally. Attempts at friendship were shot down with angry posturing, and any mons that tried overpowering her to make her calm down often found themselves bleeding around an even angrier Buneary. One day, an older and more experienced trainer came through and took an interest in the oddly colored Buneary. Due to policy and the added worry about just anyone trying to take an oddly colored Pokemon, the orphanage couldn’t let the trainer just take the Buneary. So the Trainer spent a fair amount of time around the Orphanage just to try getting the Buneary comfortable with him. He had a better idea about what was going on with the Buneary, so he knew how to deal with her attitude. Temper tantrums, aggressive posturing, and even a bites and kicks were all endured. The strange trainer slowly gained her trust, and introduced his own Pokemon one at a time. The orphanage people noticed a marked improvement in the Buneary's attitude, and eventually allowed the trainer to take her with him. He gave her the name Snowbelle since he figured she hated the name given by her neglectful owners. She didn't know it until later, but she had been named after the trainer's birthplace. He eventually introduced the former pet Pokemon to battling, and even though it was clear that she hadn't battled before, he was patient with her. Battle training showed an even bigger improvement in her attitude, and he later rewarded her with a new move to match her name. Unfortunately, the good times ended far too soon. The epidemic suddenly hit the world, and everything fell apart. Her trainer ran as much as he could, and he did his best to make sure his Pokemon were safe. Snowbelle was the weakest, so he often went out of his way to make sure she was okay. Unfortunately, he injured his leg when their small group was caught by a horde, and he ordered for all of his Pokemon to run. Of course, they fought him on this, but he knew his time was limited. After much arguing, the undead finally broke through their barriers, and he begged them to flee. With heavy hearts, they all ran and were unfortunately separated in their desperate attempts to get away. Once Snowbelle knew she was safe, the Buneary broke down in tears. The human had been the one good thing she had in life, and now he was gone. She had been too weak to protect him. She now wanders the countryside trying to survive and being angry at the world that has only been cruel to her. |
Bulbapedia | "Buneary is a small, bipedal, rabbit-like Pokémon with brown ears that can curl up. It has two types of fur covering its body: a light tan fleece that covers much of its lower body, feet, and the tips of its ears, and a smooth chocolate colored pelt on the upper half of its body. It has a small, triangular pink nose, pink paw pads on the undersides of its feet, and small tan spots above its eyes. It has a small brown puff of a tail. It is commonly depicted with one ear curled up. If it senses danger, it perks up both ears. It can deliver powerful blows with its curled up ears, and it has an impressive jumping ability. On cold nights, Buneary sleeps with its head tucked into its fur. It lives in forests, though it can also be found on icy mountains. It is most likely herbivorous. Buneary also likes to eat certain kinds of flowers found in the wild." |
Appearance | Snowbelle is an albino Buneary with the expected pure white fur and pinkish-red eyes. Her fur is also incredibly fluffy and soft due to her breeding though she doesn't keep it as neat as she probably should. Her default expression is angry, and when in bright light, she has to squint. Her ears are often both unrolled to give some shade to her eyes. |
Accent | Nothing of note |
Religion | "If there are any higher powers, I want to know so I can give them a good kick in the face." |
Motivation | Survive |
Personality | -Bitter -Had a good thing very suddenly and violently taken from her -Angry -Everything that could go wrong has gone wrong, and she is incredibly pissed about it. -Explosive -Selfish -She takes care of herself first and foremost. Without proper motivation, she is likely to leave people if it means she can survive. -Suffered immense amounts of neglect as a child -So much of her personality hinges on this -Afraid of getting close to others -Afraid of losing anyone she could get close to -Hides it under sass and sarcasm -Cynical Generally believes the worst in others until she gets to know them really well. -Hates being cornered, literally and figuratively Don't tell her she has no choice, she will kick you if possible -Mistrust of those in power -Her original owners, the ones she was supposed to rely on for everything, let her down and even hurt her. -Takes betrayal hard -Will assume the worst of any perceived betrayal -If she comes to care for someone/something, she will fight for it -Territorial -Spiteful -Wants to get stronger |
User Notes | -gdi Sara -Based on the tendency of people to buy bunnies for Easter as a gift for kids without looking up how to properly care for rabbits and leaving it solely to a kid to care for them. -She is sensitive to light, so she often stays in the shade or her ears and nose will burn. Her skin could also burn, but her fur does help there a little bit. Albinism also causes issues with focus and depth perception, but most people don't seem to notice much of a difference between their albino rabbits and normal rabbits. The biggest difference is that albino rabbits tend to "scan" or stare more to aid in focusing. Sometimes squints in "normal" lighting. However, her Jump Kick accuracy is cruddy because of this, so she doesn't use it often. -The image is an edited version Dream World artwork. -Snowbelle is the name given to her by the trainer she adored; It just seemed easier to refer to her by the name then constantly changing her name as she switched hands. |
