History | Young Lagnei was bred by a professional Charmander breeder to be a starter Pokemon. She was gentle, a timid little thing in comparison to her siblings. The boy that received her was the complete opposite, headstrong, bold, and loud. The breeder advised that the Charmander needed a gentle guiding hand to bring out her true potential but the boy, stoked to have his starter Pokemon, completely ignoring him and headed off start his journey. At first things went well enough. Both trainer and Pokemon were inexperienced, winning and losing battles through luck or type advantage. At each loss the boy kept their spirits up with words such as "We'll get them next time!" Battles against trainers were always a crap shoot but the pair did manage against local wildlife if only by dumb luck. He built up a small team of any Pokemon they managed to weaken; a Pidgey, Bunnelby, Litleo, and an Azuril. With more options and experienced Pokemon the battles instantly seemed to go better. Litleo in particular was pretty good at common sense dodging and attacking and swiftly replaced the Charmander as the fire type of the time. Coming to the conclusion that Lagnei was the problem, the stupid and useless one, the boy released her on in the middle of the next route. The Charmander was terrified. Young, inexperienced, and lost in a foreign environment she struggled just to survive. Wild Pokemon took no sympathy in her, attacking on sight jut for trespassing or trying to take their food source. Every human that came across the Charmander attacked the poor child as well, unable to understand her pleas and simply wanting the semi-rare Pokemon for themselves. It didn't take long to beat into her the fact that she was alone and that humans, the creatures she had spent her entire life replying on, would no longer help her. Completely abandoned Lagnei struggled, replying on sheer instinct to survive. The timid Charmander had to grow up fast, get a spine and truly fight for her life. Her personality died in those first few weeks as she forced herself to fight. Every berry tree seemed to be protected by angry birds and the bushes by rabbits. She fought for every meal and even went as far as to kill other Pokemon that would not back off, finding an epiphany that meat was much more filling. The weeks turned to months and then to years. The fighting was constant, either against the jerk trainers, the wild Pokemon and predators, and the elements as well. It took a lot of pain, work, and suffering but somehow Lagnei managed to survive over those years. Fighting tooth and claw she grew to be a strong and powerful adult, eventually managing to make it to her final evolutionary form. Humans that stumbled upon her were shocked at her ferocity and wild Pokemon knew to stay well enough away. Her sturdy wings allowed for travel and she was able to see many sights she never knew existed. Not once did she receive help but the Charizard no longer needed it. Nature became her bitch, finally one with her environment. But, despite keeping to herself, Lagnei's strength did not go unnoticed. A Pokemon took interest in her, a male. He followed and tried to court her, accepting the risk that she posed him. At first Lagnei was confused if not irritated, but eventually she grew used to his presence. It was almost comforting to have someone else nearby after being on her own for so long. The male swooned her, the first real companion she had had since childhood. Lagnei's heart soared, unused to the intimacy that formed so fast. She even invited him to share her den, relishing the presence of another Pokemon. It was not long before she produced a clutch of eggs, both shocking and overjoying the dragon. But that joy quickly turned to heartbreak. The night after she showed the male their eggs he disappeared, never to be seen again. Once more she had been abandoned, and when she truly needed the help. How was she going to raise her offspring alone when she barely had the chance to know her parents and essentially raised herself? Despair overtook her, all trust shattered like her heart. She didn't leave her den after that, desperate for the male to return. Wild Pokemon must of saw her behavior as a sign of weakness as a pack of Mightyena came and attacked the not-so-powerful predator. Having not eaten in several days weakened Lagnei fought valiantly to keep the hounds at bay, using all the strength she could muster to fight off the intruders. She managed to scare off some while struggling against others, but the dragon couldn't keep her eyes on all the hounds at once and one managed to sneak past her. It went straight for her clutch. Overwhelming rage flooded the dragon. Charging straight at the threat she attacked with no mercy, killing the Mightyena without a second thought. Seeing renewed strength in the Charizard the rest of the pack fled, though Lagnei managed to grab a hound that stumbled and kill her as well. Turning back to her clutch she was horrified to find that all the eggs had been broken, cracked, or trampled.... except one. Lagnei vowed never to make the same mistake again. She pushed herself to the limit, training and honing her skills for any fool that dared to go after her child. The Charmander hatched perfect and healthy, becoming the center of Lagnei's world. She would raise him to be strong, to be powerful! But as strange, unwell Pokemon started to sprout up around her home Lagnei decided they had to move on, and that the journey would just be another part of Nawe's training. |
Bulbapedia | "Charizard is a draconic, bipedal Pokémon. It is primarily orange with a cream underside from the chest to the tip of its tail, which burns with a sizable flame. Charizard has a long neck, small blue eyes, raised nostrils, and two blunt horns protruding from the back of its rectangular head. There are two fangs visible in the upper jaw when its mouth is closed. Two large wings with teal undersides sprout from its back, and a horn-like appendage juts out from the third joint of each wing. Charizard's arms are short and skinny compared to its robust belly, and each limb has three white claws. It has stocky legs and cream-colored soles under its feet." |
Appearance | Lagnei is much more slender then a normal Charizard. While it gives her a more 'feminine' appearance a deep glower to her face usually counters to any "beauty" one might see. |
Accent | Her voice is low for a female, deep, and very rugged. It is a bit raspy and rather intimidating. |
Religion | Unknown |
Motivation | Survive; protect her offspring. |
Personality | | Cold | - Repeated abandonment, broken trust, and a hard life have changed the once gentle reptile into a cold, icy soul. She knows first hand nothing in life is handed to you and that kindness is usually weakness. | Strong | - She has fought hard all her life and gained strength from it. While she will not boast her strength she is very willing to use it. - She is also able to endure suffering and does not show her pain. | Predator | - She is very good at killing and will not back away from a kill or a fight. | Protective | - She had worked hard to claim what she has and will use all the strength in her being to keep it that way. | Serious | - Very cold and "raw." Everything is a bad deal or doesn't matter at all. You do as told or suffer the consequences. | Fury | | Fierce | - Fights with all the power and ferocity of a real dragon. | Spiteful | - She does not forget and does not forgive. | Soft on Children | - As a mother she knows children need a guiding but firm hand. While she will not spoon feed them she will not intentionally be cruel to kids. They must learn eventually- her job is only to assist in that. | No Bullshit | - "Fuck off." - Doesn't take well to excuses, sass, insubordination, ect. | Does not Trust | - In this life you only have yourself to reply on. | Dominant | - She is the alpha of her own life and follows only her own orders | Deep Hatred | - Few creatures have really fucked her over in life but those that have she can not forgive as a species; Mightyena and Humans. They will receive nothing but wrath. | Proud | - She has worked hard to survive and achieve what she has. She does not bend to others, knowing her can do things herself. | Quick Tempered | - Mere sight of something can annoy her. | Solitary | - Perfectly comfortable and prefers to be on her own. The company she keeps is extremely selective. |

Truly the most precious thing in her life and the only influence over her. While she is highly protective of him but does not cater, knowing the child must learn to be strong to survive in this world. "Pain is a teaching tool." Arrow the Areodactyl: An old friend. One of the few Pokemon she can refer to as friend and that has managed to gain a little of her trust. While she is completely comfertable being solitary Lagnei enjoys his company.
