| History | N's childhood was a lonely one. Apparently abandoned then rediscovered by his father, N was fed horrible stories about humans abusing pokemon for as long as he could remember, as well as surrounded by the stories' victims. Those pokemon and the nightmares that were their previous lives shaped N, molded him into a soft-spoken vigilante for all of Pokemon kind. When he was old enough, Ghestis released him unto the world, and N's journey through Unova began. At first, he'd thought that apart from his father, his sisters and his followers, all humans were alike, especially trainers. They were all abusive, power-hungry monsters that forced Pokemon into glorified cock fights to the death. But early on, he met a young trainer by the name of Blair, or Black as he was instructed to call the boy. And though Black's pokemon were content from what N could tell, the boy managed to become more and more of an expert battler. It didn't make sense. Good trainers were always bad people because their pokemon were little more than pawns. Eventually, N became utterly fascinated with the boy, despite Ghestis' urgings to forget him and continue on with Plasma's plans. He knew as Black grew as a trainer, his pokemon were sure to become abused and tormented, as all of his childhood friends had become. But when was that supposed to start? The two boys ran into each other often, with escalating arguments and battles. Black was a passionate young man, and he began to make N wonder if perhaps his father was wrong? As the two conversed more and more, the boys began to feel a kinship. N found in Black a confidante, someone he could speak to frankly. It was refreshing to have a friend outside of his family or Plasma. As N continued to go on with his father's plan, the journey eventually led to Dragonspiral Tower, where he finally met his destiny in the form of the Legendary Dragon, Reshiram. Black, though close on his heels, was too late to stop it and N soon rode off to the Elite Four, where the next phase of his father's plan was to be executed. Guilt plagued him for leaving Black behind like that, but this plan was what their sickened world needed. It was his truth. He found defeating the Elite Four and their Champion frighteningly easy with the power of his friends and Reshiram at his side. And all the better; that way, his friends weren't too badly hurt. However, it wasn't long after his crowning victory that Black, once more dogging his shadow, came after him with Zekrom, Reshiram's opposite. In one final battle, Black obliterated N's team. N was conflicted, but adhered to what his own loss meant; Black's beliefs were simply stronger. His pokemon, despite his own strength as a trainer, were still happy and healthy-- maybe that's what a trainer should be? After all, Zekrom would not have followed Black were he so simple-minded and selfish as other trainers. But Ghestis was not one to take the loss so easily. He revealed callously in a fit of rage that all N ever was, was a pawn in his scheme. A scheme to cripple Unova enough for him to take control, shattering N. His own father had turned him against his own kind for nothing more than power. In N's shock, he found himself unable to react or move, so in his stead, Black stepped in and fought valiantly. It was soon that Ghestis saw his own team defeated and soon, was arrested and carried away. As much as N had to thank Black for, he knew there was much he needed to figure out for himself. Boarding Reshiram, he left to try and figure out what had just happened to him. It wasn't long until Black found him again, this time offering a safe haven when they learned that Ghestis had escaped custody. Happy for the help, N accepted. As they lived together, N found himself deeply in love with his fellow trainer, something he had never anticipated could happen. But as Black took up a new carreer to support them in Opelucid, N felt a seed of dread building within him. Something was wrong, and it was getting worse. One day, his instincts were too strong, and, his heart breaking, he left Black with merely a note, unable to say his goodbyes face-to-face. He knew Black would want to help, and it would only likely get him in danger. Together with Nate and Mia, N helped uncover another plot by his father to rule Unova. He lacked the raw power to stop his father once again, however, and could only stand and watch as two other capable trainers did the work. At least they succeeded. Happy that Ghestis had once again been stopped, even though Opelucid was nearly destroyed, he returned to Black only to have the man savagely rage at N, heartbroken by his abandonment and death of much of his pokemon team. Unable to asuage Black's wrath any other way, N simply obliged Black's wishes and left. He was content to travel Unova but soon saw the beginnings of someting horrible. There were whispers in the dark about red eyes and hungry fangs, and soon, horrors appeared. Terrifying monstrosities overtook his homeland and, terrified for Black, ran to Opelucid only to find it overrun and abandoned. Fearing the worst, N could only run himself, keeping to the shadows to try and keep his friends and himself alive. |
