History | Born in the wild, the young Horsea had an uneventful beginning. She was named Caroline, an unusual name for a Pokemon, but her father demanded for it. Apparently he had been owned by a trainer, years ago, before the woman had passed away and her Pokemon released. He named his daughter after the woman who trained him. Caroline thought it was a noble namesake and wore it proudly. She grew up in a delta, unlike her usual kin who preferred the open seas. Her father loved to talk to his daughter about the wonders of the human world, information which she greedily soaked up. The Pokemon of that vicinity were not hunted or threatened, so she was free to explore and be shown her father's favourite nearby locations herself. The Horsea was a happy child, though she was oblivious to her parents' own inner turmoil. She learned how to avoid fishermen and keep away from fishing lines. She learned how to use TMs from him, and heard stories of the Legendaries that she could only imagine. But as Caroline grew to love and dream of the human's world, her mother grew angry, hotly arguing with her father. The Seedra believed it was dangerous to expose their daughter to the dangers of humans, to which her father would calmly point out that nothing had had happened to her or him over the years. But over time, these fights became more and more frequent, more severe, until one day Caroline was taken from her father. Forced to follow her mother, the Horsea fought and cried and screamed for the Seedra, but her pleas went unanswered. The epidemic started soon after, the swimming undead cornering her mother and the Horsea. Terrified, they fought back, but there was no winning. The Seedra was ripped apart as Caroline was able to flee for her life, traumatized and in danger. It was by pure miracle that she ran into her father, the male had been tailing her mother and her for days. He took care of his daughter for as long as he could, but no one could have predicted the extent of the virus, and he underestimated the infected. He, too, fell before his daughter, leaving Caroline completely alone. But she soon ran into Simon, a lost and confused Omanyte. The two struck a deal immediately, her knowledge saving her in making her of use to the shellfish, and they had kept together ever since. |

History | The Omanyte was normal, nothing extraordinary had ever happened to the shellfish. He lived with his family, and as time passed, he grew into a young adult and eventually left them to be on his own. Avoiding Kabutops and aggressive Omastar was not difficult, as the shellfish was clever. Within time, he even adopted a mate of his own, a remarkable creature he was proud to show his family. However, the pair were displeased, disappointed, in fact, so much so that he almost thought them to become hostile. He had not chosen a female, but a male of his own species, and this left his family worried, scared, as they thought their blood line would end with their son. He tried to convince them otherwise, but as time passed, his mate suggested they instead merely leave his family for some time, to think on it. The shellfish agreed, albeit reluctantly. They drifted further away from his old home, settling down and living for a time happy as could be, together. But a cataclysmic event prevented the planned second chance with his family-- somehow the worst happened, and death happened all around the Omanyte. Terrified, he screamed for his mate, but he was lost in the chaos. Suddenly, everything went dark, and the Omanyte died right then. ... ... ....However, suddenly there was light. And voices. The Omanyte snapped his eyes opened, terrified, only to see creatures he had never before encountered. They chattered like birds, flapping spindly fins at each other. They held smooth, round stones the colour of red berries and silver spikes that pricked his skin. He was in an invisible trap, the see through parts hard, like stone, but the only way to tell anything was there was to reflect the light by looking at a certain angle. He was terrified. Where was his mate? What had happened? Where was the ocean, his home? One of the hairless, scaleless creatures reached one limb out to him, but the Omanyte flinched back, recoiling out of fear. "Come on now, Simon. We won't hurt you." Simon? The Omanye picked up on the tone more than the words. Slowly, cautiously, the Omanyte allowed his shell to be touched by the creature. It half opened its mouth in an odd way, showing blunt, square fangs. He cooed, making positive sounds, and the shellfish melted. Waving his fins slowly, he formed bubbles in his mouth and blew them out happily, playfully. The creatures immediately stared and pointed, chattering with excitement. "Simon this is incredible!" He would grow to like it there. In time the Omanyte accepted his new title, Simon, and learned about the things. They were humans, they revived him from a fossil. They were scientists and had many pokeballs and needles. Simon grew especially close to one person, a man named Denis, and soon the human was the one who took possession of his pokeball. Allowed to stay out almost constantly, Simon grew to adore his human and loved the attention. He would hang out in the lab, splashing lightly in water provided for him, and sleep in Denis' home at night. He saw other Omanyte, but none of them were kept long, unlike he had been. A year or so passed before disaster struck. Simon was suddenly brought outside, to a harbor. Denis set him down on the ground, something he had rarely done, but when the Omanyte turned to question him, the man was running, moving much too fast for him to hope to catch up. Crying out in distress, Simon flailed his fins but Denis never came back. The world he saw then was large, confusing, and scary. He did not know what anything was, and as the epidemic flared up, he had to learn fast in order to survive. Thankfully, Simon met a young Horsea, named Caroline, who agreed to help him survive the world if he protected her. The two had stuck together ever since, only living by having the other around. |
Appearance | "Omanyte is a small, sky-blue Ammonoidea Pokémon. It has ten tentacles and a pale yellow, helix spiraled shell on its back. The shell's hem has two circular indents, from which Omanyte's large saucer-like eyes protrude. Several gas-filled chambers exist within Omanyte's shell, which it uses to regulate its buoyancy within the water. By evacuating or filling the chambers, it rises and falls while twisting its tentacles to swim. Living on and swimming about the sea floor, it feeds off plankton. If attacked or endangered, it quickly withdraws into its hard shell. Omanyte is considered extinct, although can be revived from Fossils." -average for his species -no defining colours or marks |
