History | Nova was born to two powerful dragon-type pokemon. He never knew his father, and grew up under the care of his mother. He lived his younger years within the Dragonspiral tower in Unova. As druddigons, he and his mother were among the strongest breeds of pokemon in and around the tower. Nova's mother often served as a protector and authority figure to the pokemon calling the tower home. She was well-respected and often would aid those in need within the community. She was also known for being very eccentric and easily excitable, bursting with energy--none of these traits Nova really picked up himself. The young druddigon was boastful, arrogant, but he always carried a soft spot in his heart for his mother. He would often give in to her wishes for him to help others or to follow suit with whatever activity, game, or object caught her attention at the current time. During his childhood he had been told many stories about who his father was and about his power and status. Nova was told that his father was a descendant of the stars themselves. In fact, a number of the stars in the sky were the souls of dragon-types looking down upon them. As his mother further explained, they were all arranged in the constellation "draco" but to get there, each of the stars had to earn their place. All of these stories he took to heart and it further fueled his own overly high self-esteem. There came a day where a human ventured into the ancient tower. Yes, he's seen them before and would watch them cross the bridge to his home, fish or browse through the grass outside. This time was different. This one journeyed deep within the tower, climbing the levels and examining the crumbling architecture. Curious, trailed the human out of sight. As they both wandered higher, the dragon-type nearly tripped over something that had fallen from the human's bag as they knelt to examine something. It was jagged, giving a pattern mimicking his own spikes, but it was also smooth...gold in color and unlike any item he had seen before. It practically begged to be worn. Carefully, he gripped the item between his large claws, taking his time to examine it more carefully before slipping it on top his head. For some reason, just wearing the item made him feel more important, nobler even. As he looked back up, he noticed the human had moved. The dragon turned his head this way and that, but couldn't find where they had disappeared to until a noise caught his attention. As he looked up, he found the human had tried to climb on top one of the many decaying pillars and had only discovered it was on the brink of collapsing and joining its brethren on the ground floor afterward. Nova raced forward, clutched onto the edge of the pathway with his hind claws, leaned over the edge, and outstretched his front paw to them. At the time, he hadn't considered why he ran forward without thinking. Maybe it was the King's Rock or because he didn't have that time to sit and think. With no other option, the human takes his paw and is yanked to safety the pillar crumbles to the floor. However, another sickening crumbling noise accompanies it... The edge of the pathway had begun to crack underfoot. The dragon-type flapped furiously with what he had for wings to pull both him and the human to safety as a light enveloped his form. A light, tingling sensation that spread through his entire form from his claws to his spikes. His wings more than doubled in size and allowed him the extra strength to pull both of them away from the edge. In gratitude, the human shared with him a TM. Something to make him a "true" dragon. After his evolution, though the desire to travel and explore became stronger and stronger, Nova continued his life, within the tower until the epidemic finally caught up with Unova. It only took a few pokemon to enter the tower with the infection before it spread like wild fire and turned the once proud relic into a cage. The remaining survivors fought and pushed through to whatever exit they could reach or fit through. In this resulting conflict, Nova ended up separated from everyone. With no set destination in mind he travels looking for those worth of his time to assist and hoping in the back of his mind he will one day meet either or both of his parents. |
Appearance | "It has grown in size, becoming a large kingly figure, and yet it can conceal itself well enough to not be spotted by humans. The spikes on its tail have now grown up along its back and have become sharper then they where before. Its tail has grown longer then Druddigons, allowing it to do more damage when swung. The blunt horns on its head have now become dangerously sharp and have grown down the back of its neck. Its wings have now grown large enough to allow it to fly some distance before needing to rest, though it still cannot learn any flying type attacks." Unlike others of his species, Nova's wings are extremely large. They are large enough, in fact, to grant him flight. He is also leaner than many others of his kind and more built for quadrupedal locomotion. Nova is admittedly clumsy in the air. Because of this, his wings are often stay tightly folded in against his side. He is better, and much prefers being, on his feet swimming or running. The dragon-type is covered in rough skin and sharp spines. Between most of his spines are fins, but they are no more pleasant to the touch than the rest of him. Needless to say, he doesn't get many hugs. Despite his tough skin, to the eye it is meticulous and bright. Nova puts time and effort into his appearance and regularly will shine his scales/spines. No scale is out of place. His wings exhibit slight damage from past battles and other wear-and-tear. |
Personality | Nova believes he is "the best thing ever." It is not uncommon for him to refer to his "kingly" status and/or how he is a descendant of the very stars. He is not truly, he simply believes he is due to being a dragon-type. Nova has a haughty demeanor. While he is willing to help others, it's a 50/50 shot on whether he will actually be of help. If it ends badly he would feel more so like the one asking for help is to blame for their failed request. Part of him truly does not understand the reactions of others to him, though sometimes it's hard to tell if that is it or he simply doesn't care. This encompasses:
The dragon-type is loyal to the very few close to him and optimistic in a way--he always thinking he will prevail. Nova has a strong sense of being able to find a purpose and knowing who he is, he is not likely to ever feel truly defeated. Compliments get right to his heart. Flattery is a sure way to win his favor. His high opinion of himself buffers him from most insults. Lawful? Many egotistical characters are power hungry and will destroy obstacles in their way for the power they seek. They can also tend to be liars. In contrast, Nova is blunt, but honest. He already has power. He's not going to break laws/rules or attack innocents without a strong cause. |

You uh, you have a typo in your title lol. I was imagining a drugged out monarch when I read Druggiking.
