Mewtwo is a Pokémon that was created by genetic manipulation. However, even though the scientific power of humans created this Pokémon's body, they failed to endow Mewtwo with a compassionate heart.

History-
Subject to experimentation and gene manipulation by Team Rocket, Mewtwo was created by splicing together the DNA of Mew, Blaine, and several other recombinant DNA strands that made him vicious and powerful. He was held captive and studied at the Rocket Mansion until finally, learning the truth of his origin and the continued experimentations, he broke free. He wound up destroying the Mansion in the wake of his fury, his temper and anger swelling as he struggled to come to grips with the fact that he wasn’t normal. He felt as though he was an in-between, neither Pokemon nor human, so he fled both worlds. He resided deep within the Cerulean Cave, far enough away that not even other Pokemon would risk going so deep.
Caring only to venture out in the darkness of night, he kept close tabs on Team Rocket, raiding their warehouses and stores to collect whatever he found useful, including TMs and Potions. Listening in one night on a video-call to Giovanni, he discovered Team Rocket had begun new experiments with a team from another Region. These so called “Shadow Pokemon” were supposed to be created much the same way he was, using Rocket’s Gene Manipulation and Cipher’s “Heart Corruption” to alter current Pokemon rather than creating new ones. Upon hearing of the growing Epidemic in the neighboring region of Johto he struggled to ignore the petty pleas and cries for assistance until he pieced together the strange coincidence between Rocket’s new research and this sudden plague. He set out for Johto, yet as he traveled he could feel his fury swelling at the depths of mankind’s depravity, fury so raw and unchecked that something inside him finally…snapped.
