History | Dmitri never quite had a very normal life, much less childhood. Mysteriously abandoned at birth, the young kit would have died if not for a passing pokemon. Strangely enough, the pokemon that shed pity on him was none other than a gyarados, a female that had heard the pitiful cries of the little helpless whelp. Determined to eat him in order to shut him up, his pitiful appearance caused her to stop, and instead take him in and raise him for her own. The gyarados, named Jager, would train and raise him into a powerful umbreon. Jager was not one for weakness, and thus, trained her newfound pup the way she thought he should be trained. He grew in levels quickly, and though she would rather him have grown into a water type more like herself, he evolved during a late night training session, earning nothing but praise from his adoptive mother. He never thought anything of her until he was finally thrust out into the new world, Jager convinced that her own work was done. Now that he had evolved, it was time for him to leave the nest and fend for himself. On threat of decapitation, Dmitri obeyed, wandering out into a strange, unknown world. It was difficult at first, between trainer fights and avoiding capture. However, he managed to find a suitable life of theft and an overall nomad's existance when he stumbled upon a strange community of pokemon. To avoid being completely ostracized at first sight, he began doing small favors here and there, earning a suitab;e reputation among them. Eventually, one of those favors was to kill a certain old hag, and while the deed itself did nothing to his concience, it would change his life forever. Because of that kill, he was tracked down and ultimately kidnapped by a guild of assassin pokemon, claiming he had stolen their kill. In order to redeem himself and keep his own life, he was now sentenced to a life of indentured servitude, ordered to kill whomever the Brotherhood willed. At first, this sort of life bothered him, but he soon found that nearly all of his targets were nothing but scum and rightfully deserved death. Therfore, he was able to carry on with his work. He leveled and leveled, becoming one of the higher ranked assassins in the entire Brotherhood. A master of shadows, he perfected his lethal techniques, either subtly killing his victims with poison, slicing their throat in the dead of night with perfect precision, or simply obliterating them entirely with his most powerful attack. He enjoyed his high reign for many seasons until a different threat came to the Brotherhood. Not the law, not vigilantees, but something completely different, new, and threatening. The Plague. It tore his home, his brethrens, his community apart in a mere week, destroying everything he'd held dear into shambles. The strange disease caused him to flee, and now he roams for a safe haven and his old comrades. |
Appearance | Dmitri is a standard umbreon, with no real defining features. |
Personality | Prideful| Quiet| Condescending| Highly Intelligent| Distant| Struggles with emotion| Stubborn Dmitri never has been, and likely never will be, a modest creature. He is very well aware of just how powerful he is, knowing this by the many kills he's taken in the past. However, he is not a boasting sort, instead preferring to quietly condemn the idiocy of those around him and assurring himself that he is in fact the better pokemon. His distant nature should not be confused with cowardice, however, as he is usually more than happy to show any the errors of their ways... just usually not by any conventional means. Outright battle is usually avoided, such brash nature seemingly below him. He can be riled enough, though, to be convinced to participate in an all-out brawl. Highly intelligent, Dmitri loves analyzing and dismantling his foes. His favorite methods are killing someone slowly, enjoying making them suffer for long periods of time. This technique was perfected by killing his targets over several days to ward suspicion from him. This is now usually reserved for only his most hated of foes. Extremely stealthy, Dmitri is very difficult to spot in the shadows and has perfected his technique of dimming his rings in darkness. He also prefers to work alone, as any other company generally hinders his own style of operation. His psuedo-mother hindered his normal development of emotions, and so his detached nature truly stems from the fact that he is merely detached from himself. He struggles with empathy, and lacks the understanding of such a thing. He is rather pragmatic and practical, and so affairs of emotion are often lost on him. However, she did instill a sense of justice, though it is highly skewed from his years of work. |
