History | What's the point? Noal began life alone. The stiffled cries he produced as he floundered about, trying to take his first steps, were the first of the many sounds he would make in his life. He spent his days surviving, foraging for berries in the thick bushes of the forest. Sometimes, while he was eating, he had the strangest feeling that someone was watching him. However, whenever he tried to look for the observer, there was no one there. Before long, he brushed it off, figuring it to be a trick of his imagination. Years passed, with the feeling of someone watching him never quite going away. Eventually, he evolved, turning into a taller Nuzleaf, with arms and longer legs. With these arms, he learned a flurry of new tasks he could accomplish, including playing music by blowing on a leaf. On a day when he was practicing such talent, he noticed a rustling in the bushes nearby. Before he could move, a small Ratatta, who seemed to be younger than he was, jumped out and sat in front of him. Because the pokemon didn't seem agressive, Noal continued playing. When he finished, he began to speak to the newcomer, and learned that the Ratatta had been watching Noal for a long time, and had finally decided to show himself. Noal had found his unseen watcher. One day, while Noal and Therin, as the Rattata liked to be called, were having their midmorning meal of berries, they were attacked. Large Beedrill surrounded them, their glowing red eyes piercing through even the shadows from the trees. One of them lunged at Noal, and Therin jumped in front. The poor Ratatta never stood a chance. Within seconds, it's body was full of so many holes, there was barely anything of him left. Wide eyed, Noal ran. He managed to escape the Beedrill by leaving the forest, but the damage had been done. Noal had seen his closest friend ripped apart, and could not do anything about it. Before long, Noal changed his attitude. He may as well enjoy life. Why bother struggling, if it's just going to end eventually anyway? Better to just listen to music... |
