    Carrier Question Empty Carrier Question

    Post by Guest Thu May 03, 2012 2:13 pm

    I understand that carrier are for the most part immune to becoming infected, yet they still hold the disease in them. But my question is, if that carrier were to have an offspring, would that trait be passed down? or how would that affect the child?

    Let's see if I can remember enough from my first semester of Biology...

    So, for the sake of this equation, I'll assume that the carrier gene would be Heterozygous. This would make the Infection gene Homozygous dominant. So if a carrier were to breed with an uninfected pokemon, there would be a 1/4 chance for it to be infected (and thus die in the egg), 2/4 chance for it to be a carrier, and 1/4 chance for it to be born uninfected completely. I'm not sure if that's correct, or if normal genetics takes place in this scenario, but that would by my thoughts on it. :x

    If you're talking about Plagues' offspring, then Plague wasn't infected at that time.
    Just my two cents, sorry if this question has nothing to do with that.^^;

    Huh, didn't know that, i guess that's out....

    But i am getting closer and closer to that gold badge/revival ticket, so i wish to know. The first thing the revived character would do in the new team would be to find another pokemon. ((I know if i where to come back to life i'd have "Le Fun Time" with the first person i see >;D ))

    I would have to say that no fetus would be able to survive the infection in the womb, if the mother is still able to carry children. Soft shells on the eggs, bad yolk, etc. From the father, I doubt he would be able to sire.
