I was just wondering if a single profile character could happen upon an egg, and then turn into a duel character later on when it hatched?

Finding a Pokemon Egg
Just a simple question.
I was just wondering if a single profile character could happen upon an egg, and then turn into a duel character later on when it hatched?

Re: Finding a Pokemon Egg
I've seen a couple of characters that have eggs to begin with, and I've seen one character who has stumbled upon a egg in the RP and became dual characters. So I'm pretty sure that the answer is a yes, but I'd wait for an admin for confirmation. ;P

Re: Finding a Pokemon Egg
Lol, do the nasty.
Nice way of putting it.
Yes, pokemon couples can have eggs if they are compatible, but this must be canon.
As for making it work in RP with our non-sexual-explicit rule, you can merely suggest it or even have the female miraculously lay an egg if its' been with another for awhile, as you suggest.
It's a matter of preference, I won't inhibit those who want to get a little more romantic, lol, as long as it doesn't get explicit.
And as for the eggs, it's entirely possible. Whoever wants to make the profiles is free to do so- whether the receiver or the characters' mother, it's up to the members.
Lineage is something that can be noted in profiles as well.
(Pokemon breeding is weird a best. Mammals can't lay eggs, yet all pokemon have eggs. >< Not to mention alot of other contradictions)

Re: Finding a Pokemon Egg
Hmm, perhaps I should note that it should be agreed upon by both parties.
You are using the other memebrs character somehow.

Re: Finding a Pokemon Egg
Well, not all pokemon are mammalian. Some are reptilian and aquatic, which is fine for eggs, but the ghosts and inanimate objects like Magnemite or Porygon also lay eggs, and we just don't know why, lol. Pokemon are just weird. XD

Re: Finding a Pokemon Egg
I have a question that goes with this.
If a pokemon with the infection lays an egg, is the baby already infected or undead?

Re: Finding a Pokemon Egg
Undead pokemon cannot breed, as they are dead. But as far as infected... I'm not sure.

well if the virus(the infection) is able to be passed on with DNA then i bet it would be infected.

Re: Finding a Pokemon Egg
If it were possible, then depending on the species type (fire, for instance) the egg might not survive until hatching. It would just die.
Also, the egg would have to be conceived right after the parent was infected.

Straight out of our Rules of the Epidemic Universe.- the virus is contagious within the first two weeks of initial infection. After that, it is no longer able to spread, but still keeps control of the host.

Re: Finding a Pokemon Egg
so that means it would probably be very very very rare due to the limited amount of time the virus has left being contagious. hmmmm wonder if it would develop an immunity to the infection if it hatched...... hmmmmm

Re: Finding a Pokemon Egg
Considering the gestation time for Pokemon to be considered at about 6 weeks on average, and just to keep from messy inconsistencies, I would hold that no infected fetus would survive the process. Just about everything can drastically alter a child, cause malformations and abnormalities. The virus is too harsh for such a young host, and would kill it.
That's my vote.
