History | Lucifer. That was the name he was given at birth, in the last moments before his mother died, and he took her skull. Within the hour of his birth, he was alone. He lived in the desert for a long time, spending the days scavenging for food, and the nights underground in a network of tunnels his mother had dug. He never strayed out during the night, and never encountered an infected or undead. Until his third year alone. Just before sundown, a round shape appeared on the horizon. Before long, the shape became the running body of a Cacnea, its thorns falling off as it ran, and its skin dull and split. Fleeing for his life, Lucifer was chased into the tunnels, narrowly escaping around corners. Through the night, he ran through the tunnels he himself had expanded over the years. Then, at last, he reached a dead end. The Cacnea approached slowly, chuckeling at its inevitable kill. It's glowing eyes, the color of blood, seemed to bathe the corridor with their light. Closer it crept, savoring the fear exhuded by the Cubone. In one last effort, Lucifer lifted the sharp end of the bone he always carried, and thrust it into the Cacnea's left eye. The piercing glow of the eye dimmed and then was gone forever. The creature was dead before it knew what hit it. No longer believing the tunnels to be safe, Lucifer backtracked to the entrance, and stepped into the cold night air. A wave of emotion came over him suddenly, drawing his eyes upwards into the sky as if pulled by an invisible magnet. The sky... The moon... The large orb in the sky captured his attention. It was not as large or bright as the desert sun, and it did not pain his eyes to stare at it. In all his life, he had never seen this ethereal manifestation of light. It was beautiful. Before he knew it, tears formed and quickly flooded from his eyes. The exhaustion, the abandonment, his loneliness, it all came together at that moment captured by the beauty of the moon. He cried as he never had before, seeming to drain his entire body of water. He didn't stop until the sun began to rise, and even then, could not help but hiccup before stopping completely. He knew his home was no longer safe. He had nothing to take with him, but his bone and mask, so he left immediately. Carrying his club over his shoulder, he hiked further into the desert, looking for a safe haven, and deep in his heart, knowing that he would never find one. For days and days he traveled, the hot desert sun drying his skin and bones. For many days he saw nothing else, not a soul or evidence one anywhere. And then... off the horizon, he saw it. Two large, jagged shadows marked against the setting sun. As he approached, night fell, and he was forced to make camp. When the sun rose, he could see for certain what the shapes were. They were once something whole, but were now broken in half, buried under the sand. It looked like nothing he had ever seen before, but it was large enough to hold fifty like him, he could tell. With no hesitation, he entered the ruins. |
Appearance | Lucifer is a slightly larger than average Cubone, who wears a mystic water on a necklace. |
Personality | Lucifer is curious, and has a natural creativity and cunning. However, he gets lonely easily, and this tends to distract him from his thoughts. |
User Notes | He found the Mystic Water in the boat. It has no special uses for him, but it reminds him of a teardrop, so he kept it. |
