Route 4 | Midnight 1
In the dark lights of the midnight sky, not a sound was heard, nothing but the cool, swirling breeze from Cerulean town and the sobs of a pokemon. Her wings buzzed as they kept her afloat, but the byg pokemon was barely even caring. Her shell was shiny, black and gold, throwing off the light of the moon almost as much as the lime green jewl she heald in one clawed hand. The mountains looked over her right, the beautiful and enticing Mt. Moon that she had often heard stories about, was now a place of mourning. Tears ran down her incect face, her seemingly emotionless scarlet eyes brimming with sarrow as she sobbed. In the ninjask's right hand was they Bug Gem, a small red balloon tied vigerously around it to keep the helium filled rubber from floating away. The ninjask clung tightly to the Gem, both hands clenched tightly to it as she heald it close to her chest.
Vani had been with her companion Pectus, the duo had been heading into the mountain to seek haven from the swarms of undead around the nearby human city, when she had stumbled upon a horrid sight. Literally, mere feet from the entrence to Mt. Moon was a body, but not just any body, it was the mutalated corpse of her beloved trainer. Vani had known that he had been a cruel man at times, but she had hatched in his arms, she had traveled by his side for many years, and she had fought by his side countless times. Her sobs become louder, worsening as her thoughts drifted to darker things.
Vani knew that the shedinja would not understand her sarrow, probably scoff at her, but she yearned for his presance. It comforted her, even if he was not kind to her in return all of the time. "Pectus!" Vani cried, wretching her gaze away from the body. She was not sure where he had drifted off to -He would not go too far, would he?- but she was too disorianted to notice her companion, even if he were nearby.
The image would haunt the kind ninjask's mind forever. He was a strong, fit man, even if he had been lazy with training and traveling, but even he had not been spared. Vani and Pectus had not been gone for him for too long, a few weeks at most, but that must have been too long. His chest cavity had been slashed open, his ribs out for all to see with his organs spewed out around him for all to see. His legs and arms were gone, leaving mere nubs, and there was nothing from his chest above. His head was gone. There was gore splattered all around the corpse, blood was even thrown onto the mountain's looming walls next to Vani. The worst part was that it was ovious that he had been devoured, by more than ne undead. Peices of unrecognizeable flesh was strewn around and there were countless paw prints around him in blood.
It was a massacre.
"Pectus!" Vani desperately screamed again, the images of the scene before her rising up, even behind her closed eye lids.
