Re: The LEGENDARY Team (PLOT)
Every little chance they had, the other legends would use it to make some snide remark or comment about the pain they planned on inflicting on the human. It was getting on Ho-Oh’s nerve to tell the truth, the signs of a massive headache already manifesting in him at all these useless outbursts. He got it, they had a deep dread and hatred towards the human named Giovanni. But they did not need to constantly express it every chance they get. No matter how much they would deny it, or hate it, they needed Giovanni, and hurting him now would only be counterproductive. And even then, what would hurting this weak human accomplish? Just a few seconds, maybe minutes of sadistic joy, which will die down and make them see that everything is still the same, that nothing changed because of one human’s suffering.
They needed to just keep their emotions in check, and if not in check, at least have the decency to keep their outbursts to themselves.
What you say had better be in there, little man, or I'll hang your corpse like a gutted pig for the Undead to eat.
Like that….
All that did was tell Ho-Oh that Lugia would need constant surveillance, he loved his brother more than anything, but right now he could not be trusted around that human. Ho-Oh would be damned if he let his brother kill his only chance at helping his son.
Do you really think there could be a cure?
He wasn’t expecting the thunder bird to be speaking to him so soon, Ho-Oh was glad he was, but he figured that his continual ideas for peace with the humans would have put off his nephew for good. He was just glad some pokemon were putting their bitter emotions behind them.
“I…”
Ho-Oh turned to the main reason behind him wanting the cure, Entei. It was hard for him to tell how long his son had until….until it was too late basically. Yes, curing the world of this infection was important, and was supposed to be his main goal, being that he was a legend. But he just couldn’t put aside the needs of his family, he was a father first and foremost after all. Curing Entei was his priority.
“..I honestly don’t know….But, if this thing was made, there must be a way to reverse it, or at least halt the progression. But if anything I need to hope that there is a cure, if not what is there for us to do? Everyone would probably just end up going on a blood thirsty rampage if we don’t find one.”
He made sure to keep his voice down when speaking to his nephew, if his brother or anyone else heard his doubts, it may come snowballing down into another huge argument.

Re: The LEGENDARY Team (PLOT)
The giant avian was distracted from his own words shared with his uncle as his own father snarled out. What you say had better be in there, little man, or I'll hang your corpse like a gutted pig for the Undead to eat. Zapdos smirked at the threat, sneering at how the so called Giovanni was so pathetic that he could not even open the door to his beloved lab. Stupid human, Zapdos hissed under his breath, but otherwise kept his own reactions within himself. There was no point in spitting venom at eachother when Mewtwo had already made it clear where he stood. The thunderbird had to refrain from snarling in frustration. How he hated the situation.
The beginning of his uncle's respose tore Zapdos' attention away from the siituation and his father. “..I honestly don’t know….But, if this thing was made, there must be a way to reverse it, or at least halt the progression. But if anything I need to hope that there is a cure, if not what is there for us to do? Everyone would probably just end up going on a blood thirsty rampage if we don’t find one.” For the first time, the Kanto Legend allowed himself to look at the phoenix with new light. Ho-Oh had gotten on his nerves pretty quick there, within only a short time of him showing up with the others, but the tone of the larger bird's words struck him. Not that he disagreed with his words, but he didn't have the heart to voice his honest feelings when Ho-Oh looked and sounded so tired. Zapdos knew he would not hesitate to fry the human Giovanni if he was not under the psychic rat's protection.
...True. It was all Zapdos could think of to say. In the state of the world, the situation, there were no words he could magically pull out and say to comfort his uncle. Best to just shut my beak for once. I always tend to screw things up if I don't. Uncharacteristically silencing himself, the bird let his gaze darken.

Mewtwo could only sigh in exhastperation as Giovanni egged the Legends on. Was he pointedly trying to get himself killed? If so, he was doing a damn fine job as Lugia looked ready to just stomp on the crime lord into the floor like an irritating insect. What you say had better be in there, little man, or I'll hang your corpse like a gutted pig for the Undead to eat. 'As if he would even get that far...That great avian would leave nothing left for the Undead.'
Once the door was open Mewtwo wasted no time in shoving Giovanni through with his tail, pressing it to the small of the man's back and making him go first. If there were any traps present to prevent intruders Mewtwo was certainly more comfortable with the human going first. Though, judging from the dark and musty interior, the power being out disabled any such defenses as well. Find your generator, Giovanni, but don't touch anything else. I will be the one to access your computers. I don't trust you, so keep in mind that you are still useful without arms. Eying the human with a level glare he made a point of motioning to the other Legends. And I am sure any one of them would be all to happy to help remove them.
Once those computers were active he could make quick work of hacking them, more than familiar with Rocket codes and programming. It was just a simple matter of figuring out which files were the real ones and which were the decoys. Giovanni's scientists and even the man himself were notorious for hiding things in innocuous files and setting up any of a hundred dummy files for idiot hackers trying to bring down the crime ring. That's just what happens when a powerful organized crime boss also happens to be a genius in his own right. Hopefully he was familiar enough with Giovanni's manipulations to avoid those pitfalls. Otherwise...

Giovanni was more than please his little quip had produced the desired reaction from the raging guardian of the sea. Surely he meant it as some sort of intimidation tactic by using his large foot instead of an attack, but to a man like him it just showed more barbarity than actual power. But it was still amusing none the less. What you say had better be in there, little man, or I'll hang your corpse like a gutted pig for the Undead to eat. The Rocket leader could only smile as the great bird threatened him, offering a casual smile to try and soothe the savage beast. “Trust me, I shan’t leave you wanting.” He gave a small bow and offered a gesture for the Legends to help themselves to his lab, never one to fail at playing the pleasant host.
However the other Legends continued to mutter and bicker amongst themselves, all but his own precious creation. Mewtwo kept his attention on the Boss, waiting for him to step inside. How cute that he still knows his focus should always be his Master. He knew full well the clone was still listening in on his thoughts and the frown that soon marred the feline's features did not disappoint. Mewtwo didn't speak of it, however, merely choosing to shove the man inside roughly using his tail. Find your generator, Giovanni, but don't touch anything else. I will be the one to access your computers. I don't trust you, so keep in mind that you are still useful without arms. Now that particular mental image did cause Giovanni's smile to falter, not sure he liked the idea of exactly how that would be accomplished. And I am sure any one of them would be all to happy to help remove them.
And that was exactly what he was worried about.
Not letting it show that he was even the slightest bit perturbed by Mewtwo's threats Giovanni straightened his collar and smoothed his hair as best it would before he strolled into the lab casually. He looked around passively, arms crossed gentlemanly behind his back as he inspected each dusty shelf and desk. He was taking his time looking for the generator and savoring every moment the Legends had to wait, but when he began to tell that they were becoming more than irate he sauntered up to a large motor in the back of the lab and rapped on it gently with his knuckles, the hollow metallic sound echoing in the lifeless room. “Here she is. A bit worn down, however, and may need a jump start. Anyone here want to lend a spark or two? Can't run the computers without it.”
Stepping out of the way Giovanni made his way back to his former pet's side and waited for someone to get the motor running, still making the mental catalog of all the items he had browsed on his way in. While to the Legends it would have looked like he was simply wasting time to irritate them, basking in the protection of his creation, in reality he had been making a complex list of things he needed to grab while the Legends kept themselves busy. The one on the top of the list? The stash of Master Balls in one of the desks he had passed. With those he could easily capture each of the Legends and end their pathetic attempts to hinder his escape. Of course, when he was on the outside of these wretched islands once more, he would also have the power of true Legends at his command. First and foremost, however, he needed Mewtwo. When he got to those balls, before they noticed, the clone would have to be his first capture as there was nothing like a psychic barrier between you and certain death.

Re: The LEGENDARY Team (PLOT)
Lugia was annoyed but unsurprised as Giovanni took no notice for the threats the former was so kind in giving and simply walked past him to the interior of the ruined building. While it made the Shadow pokemon want to crush him like the meat-filled worm he was, Lugia was somewhat intrigued to see the innards of the famous Gym. Of course, it wasn't nearly at the level of glamor it used to be, Lugia assumed, but he guessed it was impressive nonetheless-- as far as human taste went. High, cathedral ceilings, now sporting broken rafters and support beams. A large space greeted them first: the battlefield, judging from the patchy and worn giant poke ball insignia etched into the earthy flooring. Lugia stepped in, eyes volleying around the building, looking for something out of place.
He went to the side, to allow the others entry as well and continued his investigation. On the far end of the Gym, he could see a loft, looking over the battlefield. Was that where Giovanni battled? However, directly below it on the ground, a single broken metal door rested against its frame. To no one in particular, he asked, What is that? He kept his eyes on the loft, unsure of where it led.

Re: The LEGENDARY Team (PLOT)
The Aurora legendary padded after the large group, his crimson gaze sharp and intense as his focus stayed on Giovanni as he walked about in the lab. Suicunes' fur bristled with barely-contained rage as the human put his hands behind his back and strolled about the work stations, as if life had never been interrupted by a devastating plague.
He knows exactly where the machine is...this man is no fool.
He's clearly looking for something else...and if the others aren't going to do anything about it....I will.
...You looking for something, monster? He hissed, his voice shaking with a quiet and lethal tone, his enormous azure paws silently carrying him within an arms' length of the mob boss. While the legendaries' voice was as chilling and cool as ice, outside the winds blew fiercely against the fortified building, as if nature itself were trying to tear it down to its' foundation in rage. The water beast himself was an intimidating sight, his usual placid expression gone, replaced with something else entirely...a cold and frightening visage taking its' place.
Giovanni said nothing, the only evidence of acknowledgment of the canines' words were a quickened pace towards the rear of the lab, his well-dressed form strutting towards a large machine and rapping on it with his knuckles.
“Here she is. A bit worn down, however, and may need a jump start. Anyone here want to lend a spark or two? Can't run the computers without it.” Suicune let a low snarl emanate from his jowls at the passivity of the human as the short and fragile body stepped arrogantly aside, taking his perch next to his 'pet.'
Birds of a feather...Suicune thought bitterly his sharp gaze never leaving Giovanni as he backed slowly into the shadows, as far away from the generator as he could, but always with the mob boss in clear sight. Out of all of them, it was his brother and the Kanto bird that could comply with the humans' request. His eyes moved to his brother and then to the avian, who appeared more eager than his sibling to accept the challenge.
While Zapdos seemed to be an ally, the unruly and rebellious personality made the water legendary...uncomfortable.
That bird can barely control his own reckless mouth, let alone his electric abilities. He thought, his slender body almost disappearing entirely in the dark corner of the lab, save for the pale glint of reflected light against his crimson eyes. Suicune tensed his paws in the shadows, making his claws quietly scrape against the tiles rhythmically, a faint but unnerving noise filling the thick silence.
What if I just hit him right now, with a hydro pump...
I bet it would break his pathetic ribcage, crush his internal organs...Mewtwo wouldn't be able to do a damned thing...
No...that would be too quick...that frail body couldn't handle it, even if I used only a quarter of my strength...he would die within seconds...
Perhaps just take a few limbs from him with my own claws...
And then leave him out to dry in front of his own gym, for all of his lovely 'pets' to feast on him....

Re: The LEGENDARY Team (PLOT)
Entei watched silently as they all filed into the Gym, following the human into his old domain. A glance to his watery brother suggested that they had switched bodies; Suicune was nearly bursting with rage, his face stern and glaring, fur bristled. Suicune looked as if he were about to tear the human to little minced bits. Himself, on the other hand, was strangely calm, distanced, aloof. He leaned against the wall, his strength sapped. It was all he could do to keep his legs trembling with effort, from panting and collapsing to the ground. His heart began to sputter again, causing him to close his eyes and focus on his breathing. Keep it together, old boy. We're so close... Don't lose your head yet...
Once he felt his heart slow again, he looked up to see Giovanni returning to the freak's side, saying something about lending a spark to the computers. Entei gave a small groan, both out of frustration and pain, as he watched the others move so slowly... Could you move a little quicker? he growled, glaring at the others. Not all of us have the time to be so casual...

Re: The LEGENDARY Team (PLOT)
Ho-Oh really didn't know what exactly they were looking for in the gym. Yes a solution, that much was obvious. But what exactly would be the solution....that was what had him stumped. In his mind he imagined a large computer terminal, with wires spreading everywhere, a lot of monitors connected, and flashing lights. But he doubted it would be so obvious...Then his mind turned to a phial or a test tube, containing mysterious black goo. Held behind a glass case, or withing an air tight metal case. Something that screamed dangerous and bio-hazard material. Yet the answer could very easily be something so simple, or so normal that the legends could very easily overlook it in their search, allowing Giovanni to lead them astray.
He hated not knowing, not having a clear purpose, not knowing what to look for, and having that nagging feeling that he was possibly staring at something important, and just simply not knowing it. So all he could do right now was place his faith in this human, so literally the faith of all living kind had fallen on Giovanni's shoulders for the time being. Shoulders which were constantly being threatened by a group of powerful and agitated legendaries. Shoulders who couldn't even turn on a human made computer without the help of an electric bird who hated him.....
He could already imagine the possible quips that Zapdos would have in stored for this particular situation, ones that he would feel necessary to express to everyone. And given the situation, he may even take the chance to 'accidentally' lose control of his electricity to zap the human.
"Just humor him. Remember, the sooner we start that thing up, the sooner we can get him out of our hair."

[Viridian City//Late Afternoon]
Zapdos was not at all pleased. He had not even been following the conversation going on below him, between that ass hole and his father as well as his other brothers. The human made his feathers crackle with electricity, anger seen and felt in the air, and that was obviously frowned upon by the other Legends. Mostly Mewtwo. His scowl grew at the thought of the furless lab rat. ...And he sure has been spending all too much time with that fucker since he showed up. Displeased once more with the thoughts of Mewtwo working with the human scum, Zapdos almost missed the smooth, snide voice of Giovanni and his request for electricity.
Zapdos almost gave a feral snarl, feeling his feathers spike up as if an aggitated feline. Ho-Oh's words did not exactly do anything to calm his overturned emotions. Despite the docile, almost gentlemanly train of thought the thunder avian had been thinking before, his emotions did a full spin as he whirled in anger on the phoenix. Don't remind me, he almost spat, the venom in his tone not meant for the other Legend, but coming out as such. Don't tell me what to do.
But despite his words, Zapdos decended rapidly. ...why the hell can't Raikou do this shit? He grumbled, thoroughly pissed off and sulking like a child as he expertly manuvered himself into the human Gym. He involentarily shivered, forced to have his clawed feet touch the ground as he walked briskly inside. Zapdos was no stranger to human buildings nor was he ignorant of their cruel ways. Glaring death at Giovanni, he walked right over to where the human gestured to the machinery. Step back unless you want to be fried, worm, the Kanto Legend spat, wanting nothing more than to watch his flesh smolder beneath a dozen thunderbolts. But instead, the avian tuurned his attention to the machine. Not several seconds later, a wicked bolt of lightning burned straight through the rook above, coming right down onto the Legend. WHile he would have loved to have melted the generator, he figured that would just piss the others off. Letting loose the extra electricity, the foreign technology wound up, whirrling as it turned on.

Viridian City Gym|Afternoon(31)
Viridian City Gym|Afternoon(31)
Mewtwo was not pleased with the self-indulging thoughts occupying Giovanni's mind as they entered the lab. He didn't want to keep listening in but if he didn't the man might very well try to slip something past them. He had to be alert or else they might all wind up playing the victim instead of the human crime lord. But once they were inside it was like a whole new world compared to the one that housed the official gym. Computers lined in rows, half finished experiment tables on the back wall, and paperwork everywhere. These people had left in a rush, most of the smaller tables and chairs turned over as they had grabbed everything of utmost value and ran. How they were going to find anything in this mess...
A loud rapping caught the feline's attention, causing his tail to begin twitching nervously as the metallic sound echoed for a fair amount of time despite Giovanni beginning to speak over it. “Here she is. A bit worn down, however, and may need a jump start. Anyone here want to lend a spark or two? Can't run the computers without it.” Mewtwo wasn't sure if either of the actual electric types were willing to help the man with the lending of their own power, so he was about to summon his own Thunderbolt when Zapdos stepped in. Step back unless you want to be fried, worm, Pulling Giovanni off to his side he watched as the thunderbird's power crackled around the generator until it began to spin of its own accord.
As the whirring got louder and louder lights above them began to tap and blink rapidly, finally getting a steady stream of electricity and settling into a luminescent tranquility. The hum of the generator evened out and other gadgets began to click and turn on, several of the computers among them. Ignoring the glares from Suicune, most of them settled on Giovanni and himself, Mewtwo pulled the human by his arm over to one of the tables. Which one has the files I need? Are they stored on a motherboard that they all can access? Enter whatever password I need then get the hell out of my way. While he wasn't sure about keeping his attention away from Giovanni, he was certain that the other bloodthirsty brutes in his company would more than make sure their little snack didn't get away while he searched the system.

Don't tell me what to do. The electric bird growled as the Johto legendary, his voice seething with annoyance.
Giovanni couldn't help but grin as he looked on at the feathered spectacle.
They're absolutely ridiculous! Not a one of them wants to be in the others' presence...
Step back unless you want to be fried, worm. Zapdos growled as he landed next to him, his enormous feathers already crackling with electricity. The mob boss felt a rough tug on his arm, forcing him to step back. Frustration built in his chest as he sighed quietly through his nose.
How dare he! But Giovanni said nothing, only tugging at his jacket as the generator whirred to life. It wasn't long before the backup systems were restored, which brought the lighting and computer systems back online.
Finally, I can find what I need...and with the unruly help of the legendaries. Not quite what I expected, but...His smug grin quickly disappeared from his face when he looked to the other legends. All of them seemed ornery but interested in the new surroundings the blinking lights illuminated...except for two.
The fire dog had its' eyes tightly shut and its' teeth bared in pain. And not far from him was his watery kin, looking as if he were about to eat the mob boss alive.
Oh...oh, I see. He thought, the sudden revelation making the crime lord smile darkly.
Hahah! What brotherly concern! He thought mockingly, knowing his pet was still listening in on his thoughts. Of course Mewtwo already knew the fire dog had fallen- his creation wasn't a fool. He had to see the humor in this.
It is quite amusing that you haven't put the mongrel out of his misery yet...Afterall, he is tainted. To allow him to travel with you borderlines on the imbecilic...
He paused, watching Mewtwos' face for a reaction.
But perhaps you're keeping him alive to gauge how a legendary pokemon would endure the virus?
Mewtwos' glare only deepened, ignoring his mental questions.
Which one has the files I need? Are they stored on a motherboard that they all can access? Enter whatever password I need then get the hell out of my way. He snarled telepathically.
Giovanni merely laughed at the crudity of the purple feline. As if he were stupid enough to put all of his data on a master computer- here, at the Viridian gym.
"Of course, my pet. You never cease to amaze me." He said generously, his voice dripping with amusement, sauntering to a nearby console. The screen glowed with a new life as the mob boss navigated the screens for his pet.
He elegantly placed his fingers on the dusty keyboard, quickly typing multiple passwords when prompted.

"Of course, my pet. You never cease to amaze me."
Raikou bit back a tart retort, instead scoffing as the human turned to the computer. Though the offer to power the device was given, the beast decided to stay back. Poor wretch and all his mind-twisting words: the electric Legend was at the most intrigued by him, and at the least barely tolerating him. The Thunder Pokemon gave a small hiss, though more out of frustration than anger. We're getting nowhere. Raikou was not used to loafing around and gathering information. He was an animal of action, adrenaline coursing throughout him as he raced after his target.
A small consolation, perhaps, was that it forced him to think. Damn Arceus, but here he was, realizing that what Good Ol' Ho-oh was preaching... was, well, ringing true to their word. They needed to form a connection under the circumstances, not fall apart into disarray. They should be preventing danger, not instigating it. If the Viridian City Gym had answers, then goddammit they were going to get those answers and find a cure for the epidemic. Giovanni was a frivolous prick that no doubt spent his time traumatizing ten year-olds, but he was grudgingly their only lead. The fact that we're resorting to such a pathetic human as our 'only' hope is pretty pathetic in and of itself...
He grimaced slightly as he watched the interaction between Mewtwo and Giovanni, skeptical of how useful anything could be at this point.

Viridian City Gym|Afternoon(32)
"Of course, my pet. You never cease to amaze me."
Mewtwo frowned as Giovanni brushed past him to enter the passwords, the word 'pet' beginning to make his already fragile calm splinter and threaten to break completely. This man was one of the few in the world who knew exactly what buttons to push to piss him off to the point of the freakout he had not all that long ago. It seemed like forever from the current point in time but in the life of a clone with no definite end in sight it was just another moment in time. But as long as Giovanni existed the moments would seem ever longer.
Finally the man was finished and he roughly dragged the human from the monitor with his tail before sitting down before it. Using his mind the keys began to glow before clicking furiously, the psychic searching every hard drive and data space he could find until a strange file caught his attention.
**// File Name:HV-139
**sub: Experiment Z.vid
Timidly clicking on the file the screen become nothing but snowy static for a moment before a camera flicked on and forced its way into focus on nothing but a blank of white. The cloned feline clicked away on the computer before a large screen overhead flickered to life and the white was soon able to be seen by all. Turning up the volume Mewtwo could only pray he wasn't about to see what he was afraid he was about to.
~~~~
Voices could be heard chattering and arguing about the position of the device before finally something moved and the white nothing stepped away to reveal a darkly haired male in a white lab coat. He grinned deviously before pushing his over-sized glasses up and turning to reveal a Zoroark being led in by a leash. The Scientist moved to a small table full of odd vials and needles before beginning to dictate.
"This is test serum HV-139, Experiment Z, higher gene therapy-lower S run.
Test subject is a Zoroark. Male. Young. Recruited from PokeStar Studios subject shows little to no actual battle skill. Stunt and coordinator background.
Upon initial inspection the creature is skittish, afraid but still unsure of why exactly he is being brought in for testing. His handler is the only interaction he has been allowed outside the lab and as expected he is reluctant to leave his side."
There was the rustling off camera before a feminine hand waved in front of the lens, pointing a finger at a young man holding the Zoroark's leash. "Jeffries stop coddling him and strap him down!" Another rustling and the camera zoomed in on the Zoroark screaming as it was forced against an upright metal table, large metal bindings coming around to clamp about his upper torso, midsection and legs. The table lowered to a horizontal position as its captive cried and pulled uselessly at its restraints, the male scientist now standing over it confidently as he addressed the camera.
"Better. As Jeffries administers the sedative I am currently preparing the serum for delivery into the central nervous system. Brain stem delivery has shown swifter results in prior experiments and higher control over the shadow side-effect of 'heart locking'. Experiment XD001 studies have shown complete lock to be achievable but purification still applies. HV-139 has closer ties to M2 experimentation allowing manipulation of genetics to sever emotional connection all together.
If serum tests as planned subject will be donned 'heartless', the emotional bridge in the brain destroyed and feelings becoming irrelevant. I have genetically modified some of the test subjects own brain cells to act as tumors to locate and destroy this specific area of the brain leaving the rest in tact. With no emotions subject will not be susceptible to purification nor emotional whims that would go against orders once properly reprogrammed.
Administering the serum...now."
At the last word the syringe was plunged into the back of the Zoroarks neck just under the base of its skull and it screamed in pain. A dark purple liquid that sloshed with a green tinge slowly emptied into the pitiful creature and its screams quickly became feral growls. The humans backed away as its fury unleashed and it managed to rip away the metal bands surrounding it, knocking the camera over and killing its handler and two other lab assistants on the tape before armed guards came in and sedated it.
Nearly twenty darts were stuck into the dark fox before it fell right in front of the downed lens. It had a maniacal grin and kept chuckling, singing softly to itself before the camera hissed and shut off leaving all the legends in the room staring at a black screen.
Mewtwo didn't even realize his own mouth hung open in disgusted horror, his eyes still transfixed to the dark screen and his mind trying frantically to process what it had just witnessed. Eyes closing slowly and standing to his fullest height the psychic clone clenched his fists before a dark pink aura began to fluctuate around him. Tendrils of psychic energy began to reach out and knock away nearby computers and equipment before other objects started to spark. His eyes opened to reveal nothing but brilliant blue power as his words rang out through the abandoned laboratory.
What have you done?!
Viridian Gym/Laboratory|Afternoon||8
The mob boss recalled himself from the group as slowly as he could, his footfalls as quiet as he could make them.
With their attentions turned, I can finally gather what I need...He thought with baited breath, his dark eyes darting over each of them warily. Once out of plain sight of the dangerous creatures, he quickly set to searching the half-lit room, littered with strange machines, enormous super-computers, cold metal tables and glass compartments that reached to the ceiling, lined with ominous cords and pipes. Against one wall was a large metal laboratory stand, which had a wealth of steel drawers and cabinets, all filled with a myriad of chemicals displayed in the hazy glass.
They have to be here...
Giovanni hastily opened the glass doors, careful not to make any noise. His anxious gaze scanned the numerous vials and containers, fear and frustration growing.
Blast it all to hell! There's nothing here! Nothing I can use against them in their current state…! I can't delay any longer…! He thought through clenched teeth and a growing sweat over his brow.
"This is test serum HV-139, Experiment Z, higher gene therapy-lower S run."
He froze, his fingers trailing slowly across the cold vials as human voices were heard from the other room.
Experiment Z...that's the male Zoroark. The mob boss recalled the dark monstrosity, its red eyes boring into him, never leaving his form...even while he was shredding an uninfected test subject into pieces.
Giovanni remembered how pleased he was that this 'Experiment Z' was so blissfully obedient- that his new creation had eyes only for him. That, above the dying pokemons' screams in its clutches, he heard nothing but his masters' voice. Saw nothing but his masters' face.
As it should be.
Yes, that is the key.
The dark-haired man opened the remaining drawers, his eyes lighting up as he breathed with a renewed hope.
Small metal cases with transparent covers were displayed, untouched.
Each case had the earth badge logo emblazoned on them, with a set of numbers on the far right corner. Within the cases were six pokeballs, neatly packaged in the dark foam, holding them in place.
PK-34. PK-45. PK-78. PK-99.
PK-99. Perfect.
Eagerly he grabbed the case, thrusting it into his pants pocket.
Throwing open the adjacent drawer, a dark grin spread across his face.
Among the sparkling evolution stones and the rare battle-items, there was the one item that could save him.
A masterball. I knew there was one left…
"Jeffries stop coddling him and strap him down!"
The pokemons' screams began to echo loudly throughout the semi-lit rooms as the video continued with its macabre dance.
I don't have much time…
Giovanni dashed gracefully across the room to a small terminal in the corner.
My foolish and painfully arrogant pet...you should know your master better…
Beneath the small, unobtrusive monitor was what appeared to be a solid stand, but after applying pressure to an inconspicuous black pad, a hidden safe opened, revealing a wealth of items. Giovanni grabbed a plastic filing case and hurriedly opened it, revealing rows of paper-sleeved CDs.
"HV-139 has closer ties to M2 experimentation allowing manipulation of genetics to sever emotional connection all together."
Come on! He thought anxiously, flipping through the discs.
SV...no…
HV...HV-139 is Experiment Zs' filename...I also need HV_AS...damn, what number was it?...
Screams and growls suddenly tore at the air, the mob boss' attention momentarily diverted.
HV-AS…056!
And...PV…
Giovanni ceased his search, the singing of the Zoroark reaching his ears, the haunting sound stopping with an immediate hiss of audio feedback.
As his heart leaped into his throat, he grabbed the discs he had singled out and hid them in his clothing before closing the safe and stalking back to where the legends expected him to be.
If they suspect anything, they may find the discs…but with what they just saw, they may be so clouded with emotions they wouldn't realize…
Let's just hope my pet will stand by his word…
Giovanni stared at his creation with a stoic scowl upon his face. The feline was clearly in a state of shock, his mouth hanging open and his eyes wide with horror. But the shock quickly turned to rage as a dark aura began to surge around him, nearby objects caught in the sudden psychic blast. The mob boss steeled himself against the legends' wrath, his hands deep in his coat pockets, his hand clutching the small purple ball anxiously. Computers sparked and tables flew as Mewtwo snarled, his eyes glowing a vibrant blue.
What have you done?!
Re: The LEGENDARY Team (PLOT)
Lugia had only been able to stand, growling at the human and his avid protector for most of the time after they all entered the gym, the limited space making attacks a bit too intimate. But, as Mewtwo and his human barked back and forth, Lugia's already thin patience was waning. Why were they standing around here, doing absolutely fuck all? Why weren't they going out and destroying the humans' bases, since they were still close enough to drop Giovanni off? Why weren't they killing that bastard?! But thankfully, the great avian's anger was quickly and easily diverted as the large projecter above began to flicker to life, a white screen illuminating the darkened gym.
He had never seen this technology before, and in his normal state of mind, would have been enraptured in awe. Human's technology never ceased to amaze, however, most of it was nothing but trouble. He blinked as the white removed itself to be the stark threads of a lab coat, revealing more humans and a zoroark behind him. The human spoke of the statistics of the dark fox, stating that there was little to no battle experience in the pokemon.
"Better. As Jeffries administers the sedative I am currently preparing the serum for delivery into the central nervous system. Brain stem delivery has shown swifter results in prior experiments and higher control over the shadow side-effect of 'heart locking'. Experiment XD001 studies have shown complete lock to be achievable but purification...
The rest of the words were lost on Lugia, his eyes widening and his lip beginning to curl from pure instinct. XD...00...1... That's... He swallowed hard, watching as the syringe with the ever-familiar purple liquid sloshed around, taunting Lugia, mocking him. Flashes of the cages, of the leering, jeering faces and voices, the pain, the agony... the images of his children, falling to his same, terrible fate... As the zoroark was turned and a vicious killing spree ensued, the video flickered off, and Lugia turned to the human below.
Mewtwo was already crackling with psychic energy, the mutant's eyes alight with cerulean. What have you done?!
You sick bastard... Lugia snarled beneath his breath, taking a step forward. You used my pain, my suffering and inflicted it on other innocent pokemon!? That zoroark had never even seen battle! Light amassed in his open, snarling beak, an Aeroblast building. I don't care what your little freak says. You are dying, today-- here and now!
Suicune watched the bright screen, his pale face plastered with a terrible, blank glare. His gaze watched the figures move across the screen, his ears took in the terrified whimpers and howls of the fox. He sat, paralyzed as the pieces fell into place.
He knew what was going to happen.
The bird...the bird was trying to tell us. He must have been the one responsible for what happened here! He must have been!
The aurora pokemon struggled with his growing rage, his gaze falling to his paws as he listened to the Zoroark quickly turn rabid and fall into insanity and bloodlust.
We were fighting the wrong enemy.
The winds blew fiercer outside as windows began to shatter outside of the fortified fraction of the building, the walls bending to the winds in forced obedience. The canine seethed internally as the video ended, his crimson gaze moving slowly over the placid human, standing so arrogantly in their presence.
He killed my brother.
He did it.
The other legends began to move against the human, but their words were nothing but a jumble of sounds to the legendary canine, his sight narrowing as his breath began to hasten with animosity.
He killed Entei.
He killed my brother.
It's all his fault.
Re: The LEGENDARY Team (PLOT)
"Test subject is a Zoroark. Male. Young. Recruited from PokeStar Studios subject shows little to no actual battle skill. Stunt and coordinator background." A shiver passed through the Legend's body, as if it were freezing the blood rushing in his ears. Something gigantic had taken place, an inhumane act of calculating minds. Raikou stared in heavy silence as the video played, the scientists speaking as if it was a trifle plaything. How could they have done this without anyone noticing? Who could be cold enough and act so apathetic? The beast couldn't comprehend the event recorded before him, only knew of the results and aftereffects. He knew that this was the birth of the epidemic -- this was the source, and it all began here, with the humans. "With no emotions subject will not be susceptible to purification nor emotional whims that would go against orders once properly reprogrammed." The animal had become a monster, the living heart had turned into a wild mutant.
The emotional dam within Raikou burst, like a bolt of lightning hitting a tree. Damn it...! He cursed with heavy breathing. Sometime during the video he had begun to clench his jaw to the point that it hurt, and his head spun with angry dizziness. Humans had done this-! The Thunder Pokemon shook his head in distraught -- he was clueless on what to do, and he was angry at this fact. Electricity rippled through his short, striped fur; amber eyes were alight with madness; his mouth was dry and thirsted for action. Raikou's headache had escalated, only adding more to his fury. This damned epidemic had destroyed his homeland, had nearly taken his brother, had broken his faith in the world. This damned epidemic that was started by the execrable humans, that started with the man in their presence. He couldn't even think properly as a blind rage overcame him. What do we do now?! We found the information we were looking for...! What the fuck did we get it for! Raikou's voice reverberated as his eyes shot around for answers.
He turned with an electrifying glare towards Giovanni. Is this what you wanted to show us? What are you trying to do to our heads?! Raikou felt sparks course through his body, spatting angrily as confusion and fear plagued his mind.
Re: The LEGENDARY Team (PLOT)
The video….It was…it was simply morbid and grim. The kind of material one would find only in nightmares. Yet the real world seemed to becoming more like a real life nightmare every day, one could barely differentiate the two now. It was fairly obvious from the first scene of the video what sort of content it held, but the cold calculated way the scientists administered the drug, and the way the zoroark uselessly struggled against its binds made it all seem so surreal. Ho-Oh was well aware he and everyone else was viewing a morbid science experiment going from wrong to worse. But it was as if the ramifications did not hit him until the video ended.
The calm and peaceful zoroark went….rabid. There was no other way to explain it. It was suddenly filled with rage and went berserk. No fragment of its old personality remained, just pure unbridled rage as it broke free of its bonds and attacked the scientists. Even when it was tranquilized, the pokemon still managed to show off how unsettling it all was by grinning like crazy and singing to itself. The old zoroark had died once that drug hit its system, and it was replaced with…..that.
There was no redemption for the humans that did such a thing. Especially considering all the other experiments they must have done off camera. And it would now be almost impossible to even convince the others to give the humans a chance. It was one thing to think about the evils being done in the world, but it was completely different to have those evils thrust onto you and watching it go down. Especially now while everyone’s emotions where on strung out from all the constant stress.
What have you done?!
You are dying, today-- here and now!
Is this what you wanted to show us? What are you trying to do to our heads?!
It has begun.
Don’t they understand?! It doesn’t matter what he has done, it was detestable, and now Ho-Oh really did not see how that humans can redeem himself, but that stuff he did already happened. There is no going back and changing that, no amount of yelling and threats or even fulfilling those threats will change that. It Happened. Giovanni was a detestable human, that was a fact. But he had knowledge, and that is all they had now. They can moan and groan all they want, but they need that information, any information.
Dammit, You kill him and what does that change? Nothing! All you will be left with is blood on your hands, no relief, no joy, just blood. Are you really so quick to become raving lunatics like he has been creating?!
Ho-Oh wasn’t mad, not completely. If anything he was just sad; sad that the actions of a few humans shall now determine the fate of their entire species in the minds of the Legends. He knew there was something worth fighting for out there, some sort of light that would make it all worth it, some kind of hope for them and possibly even for the few remaining humans that remain. It was just becoming increasingly difficult to find….Even for him. But if they fell apart now, that faint glimmer may just become extinguished.
Hope was hanging on by a very thin thread; it would only take a bit of sudden tension to sever it completely.
