Post by Träumerei Thu Oct 23, 2014 10:05 pm

    The LOST Team
In the Lost Tower of Route 209, Sinnoh
All that is lost will eventually be found.

    Restrictions
    • Characters require a past where a loved one or family is still alive.
    • Must be okay with your character losing all of their memories and sense of self when the team begins. **
    • Although not mandatory, we prefer this team being dedicated and without any characters that would constantly switch out. Pokemon suddenly leaving and coming does not work well with our plot.

**Your character will regain memories and identity as the plot furthers.

    Storyline
Plot wrote:ALRIGHT alright alright alright alright alright alright alright alright alright alright alright alright alright alright alright alright alright alright alright alright alright alright alright

The plot begins with the interference of a being who is clearly sadistic, and also has the power to manipulate memories to an extent; therefore, we will seek the assistance of Alhoon or Xatu in starting off our plot, as the other potential candidate, Uxie, is not quite that level of jackass.

The team will awaken either underground or on the lowest floor of the tower should we manage to obtain the Lost Tower as an rp site. In either situation, the whole team will awaken somewhere sealed and impossible to escape, unfortunately even through the use of sheer force.

The first thing they all may realise, other than each other and their strange surroundings, is the fact that none of them are able to recall what had happened to them. Some of them may also remember a flash of glowing, red eyes before blacking out, and nothing else.

Loss of memory essentially includes everything up until just before the beginning of the epidemic; essentially, they will remember their whole lives, but they will have no knowledge of the epidemic occurring. The sealed nature of the tower, and the growing fog as they advance in tower floors should prevent them from finding out until a certain point in the plot, also.

The characters will be allowed a moment to take in their surroundings. However, any confusion will immediately be made worse by the appearance of some undead (reminder, they will have lost their memories of the epidemic, and thus not understand why the undead is acting the way it will by attacking the players). Depending on the nature of the pokémon involved, the team can either end up banding together, or chaos may ensue where every pokémon begins to attack each other to save themselves. Some death may occur, injuries will be definite, and this will either bring the team to a unified front or a scattered set of divisions. Either way, the team will be off to a very shaky start. And so, in that style, the team will move forward, with further conflicts either bringing the team together or splitting it apart further.

***As it was mentioned, it would be highly preferable to have a consistent team, especially to consider the closed nature of the tower for plot purposes. New members coming in would probably be fine, they could've been lying around knocked out in a higher floor of the tower. But since we are striving for a very integral team with relations caused by long-term conflicts and cooperation, it would be very nice to have a consistent roster!***

For the sake of some anticipation and all that jazz, I'll be a bit more vague here; basically, after that point, the newly formed team will slowly begin to ascend the tower, which is the only way available for them to proceed. There will be numerous enemies and challenges as well as many undead, increasing in visual deformity and difficulty. Harbinger visits will also probably be plentiful.

Ascension through the Lost Tower will be mentally and physically taxing for the characters involved, as it plays on their amnesiac nature and will involve a lot of decision-making on the players' parts (to team up, to betray, to trust or to distrust, to question the nature of the undead pokémon that they don't understand and bring suspicion upon each other).

Upon reaching the top of the tower, they will receive a visit from the harbinger who sealed their memories. The top of the tower will be covered in fog, blocking out any visualities in the area, therefore still keeping the team's knowledge of the epidemic in the dark.

At least, until the harbinger rubs the fact that they know nothing in their faces and proceeds to return the memory of all their loved ones dying in the epidemic, that is.

In addition, the team WILL be moving away from the Lost Tower over time; a large portion of the beginning plot will take place throughout the Lost Tower naturally, but once they manage to escape, they WILL move on and explore!

More to come soon! If you're interested, you can always ask questions, prod around a little, or hell, join the team. Just be committed and be ready for plenty of pain and again, very integral rp.

    (doooo ittttt.)
    Plot Devices
**undead, trust and distrust, loss of memory and self, loved ones, no escape

This post was posted with the Träumerei account as we are all participating in creating and shaping the plot. This team's plot has heavy harbinger involvement.

Information on the LOST Team's hopeful plot has been updated! Feel free to ask questions if you're curious about other factors in the plot.

@Ricxs; I'd be interested in hearing more about Thomas, like how would he react in this environment? What can he contribute to the team?

@Cinderspark; the same goes to you too. Unless you're not sure who to put on the team yet. That's fine, because literally nobody who's been planning the teams has made a decision either (incredible).

Nonetheless, more information can never go bad and this is a planning thread, so have at it!

Perhaps my Snivy, Lily, would work?

Lily is the older sister of [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. However, unlike him, she is more cynical, bitter, and very closed off to other Pokemon. She watched the murders of both her trainer and parents along with the loss of her brothers egg. She had to get along alone in a dangerous world that was not kind. It was hard. So she had to be.

But she wont know any of that. All she will know is that she has been separated from her parents, that the last thing she was doing was heading to Cerulean City.
She was a quiet but very prideful and devious child before, doing what she wanted but keeping her thoughts to herself. The bitterness she developed during the Epidemic with plague her but she wont know why, she wont understand where it is coming from as she has no reason to feel this way. While her parents were not strict anxiety over being separated from them in this strange place will start to eat at her, about how scared/mad must be and how much trouble she will be in.
Despite being a child she does not trust others and being trapped with these strange Pokemon will be very discomforting. Working with them will be a challenge but being alone would be even harder (as shes not used to it anymore). Not to mention her love of nature will be crushed by the stark stones.

Oh, and she is purple. While these characters wont know of the Epidemic once they hit the top and remember it they may think she is an infected. Or perhaps grow suspicions of malpractice due to her color, dunno, something to play with.

If possible I would like to enter with a character I have yet to make a profile for Varanus the Scrafty.

Varanus has been teased since childhood because he isn't particularly talented at anything and looks funny (he acts a LOT more lizard-like than others of his species and has low IVs) and as a result has become bitter and jaded towards others. His only talents lie in pokemon battling where he believes there is no such thing as a blow too low or a trick too dirty. He will observe others to learn their weaknesses and do anything to exploit them for his own personal gain, even if it comes to blows. All he cares about is his own victory. He will make quick use of others and abandon them without a second thought if he needs to, only relying on their abilities rather than their companionship. Waking up in this situation puts him in a tight spot. He hates socializing (being convinced everyone is just waiting to turn on him) but can't proceed without them. He will number the other pokemon instead of referring to them by name. His hypermobility lets him twist in ways that are borderline impossible (with accompanying squishy noises) meaning when he is angry he can move like the grudge, wall climbing then twisting his head around is something he likes to do.

The only person he cares for is his mother, a Scrafty owned by his human trainer who he would visit after every battle. As the only one who ever supported and cared for him his drive to win battles comes from wanting to make her proud. With below average skills in everything else he is devoted wholeheartedly to this cause, stripping his body down to the bare essentials in order to maintain his form. After the first harb/death/anything particularly traumatizing he will likely have a panic attack, squeeze himself into the tightest, darkest corner he can find and have to be talked out. When he's upset he'll start repeating "mother, mother" over and over to try and calm himself. He won't single anyone out who obeys his orders and as an experienced battlers his plans tend to work out. He gets along best with characters too optimistic to realize he is being mean to them. Anyone who is genuinely cheerful and unfazed by physical or mental jabs confuses him.

If he doesn't mesh well how about Bokuto the Togekiss? To quote the wiki "He has a playful and child-like personality and is described as having mood swings, where even the slightest thing can change his mood which then impacts his performance. He is often referred to as 'simple-minded' because of this, but is both admired by his friends and the opponents for his impressive skills and morale-boosting demeanor. When he makes a comeback, Bokuto's pride as the ace is clearly shown and believes he is the 'strongest'. Bokuto is energetic where he makes jokes about everything and is rather dramatic about his plays. His personality is so compatible that he gets along with many people; otherwise he's rather ignorant to people's discomfort and will force them out of their comfort zones"

(Ace) The Lost Team Empty Re: (Ace) The Lost Team

Post by identitist Wed Dec 31, 2014 12:27 am

The plot has been updated and now includes more material to last a good while. It will include several undead, maybe special appearances by some harbingers at some point, and thankfully, the lovely assistance of Alhoon in moving this plot forward.

For starters, as it has already been established, all participant characters of this team have gone through memory loss to certain extents caused by Alhoon. There are no funny tricks allowed where the pokémon successfully manages to remember a solid piece of their past through tower travel or blunt force trauma to the head or whatever kind; only very occasional fragments are permitted. Memories will be returned to the team eventually, but they will have to scale the tower first.

Memories lost include all memories of the epidemic; as a result, the latest memories the team should remember are their happier memories with their family, trainers, et cetera. They will remember their trainer or friends or lovers still being alive and well, and absolutely nothing of the undead or infected. They will have no knowledge on the epidemic whatsoever, including what are the undead, how undead come back, or even the fact that an undead has to be totally obliterated to finally be completely dead, and so on so forth. As for the fact that the undead tend to try to eat the living? Well, they might have to learn that the hard way.

The tower is as it is in the game, except with considerable ruin here and there, particularly on the lower floors. Everybody will wake up in "Lost Tower, B1"; though there is no B1 in the game itself, the Lost Tower in this epidemic has sunken into the ground by earthquake or another method, causing the first floor to actually be underground. As a result, the team will not be able to break out of their starting point as beyond the tower walls in the starting floor is actually all hard earth.

From then on, they will simply decide that scaling the tower and either finding a window (there are none, or they are all blocked) or reaching the rooftop is their only bet in escape. Because of the method by which the Lost Tower has sunken in, the lower floors are cracked, damp, and generally kind of unsanitary and not very nice; however, as they ascend, the floors will probably look a lot nicer... but also bloodier.

As they ascend, the number of undead will slowly increase, naturally, because that's how this shit goes down (or up). Also, as they reach higher floors, the floors will also get mistier and mistier. The roof is basically so fogged that they can hardly see their surroundings. This is why I requested that we have a pokémon that knows defog; after the second ascension, mentioned later in this post, preferably we can get the tower's roof defogged and the team can see exactly how destroyed and ruined the world has become in their absence of memory.

The team will actually ascend the tower twice. Alhoon will be waiting for the team after the first time they reach the roof and mock them for their ignorance, before giving back some of their memories. Their returned memories will include the first part of the epidemic, generally including their first interactions with the undead, and possibly memories of their trainers, friends, lovers, etc fighting alongside the participant pokémon or even as they are attacked by undead. Their returned memories will not include their loved ones dying, yet.

After the first return of memories, Alhoon will return the team back to the tower's B1 floor, where they will begin their ascension again. The reason for the specificity in the returned memories is so that the thought of their loved ones out there and fighting for their lives will act as a motivator/fuel for the team to reach the roof and escape.

In the second ascension, there will be considerably more undead, both in numbers and also the level of infection (aka, how gross they are, tbh). We will likely have a visit from Lamia (2KB) as well; 2KB, if you want to post info on Lamia to this thread later, then feel free to.

As we all know, Laurel is infected; being a fire type, as she ascends the tower with the team, her condition will slowly deteriorate over time. Because of their lack of memories concerning epidemic knowledge, the team likely will not realise Laurel's state until later; there will be more on Laurel's involvement in this plot in a second post.

Once they complete ascending the tower a second time, Alhoon will once again be waiting for them. He will probably end up mocking them again, and then return the rest of the participant pokémons' memories, all of them up to the point where Alhoon appeared to them and erased their memories, connecting to the moment they first woke up in the Lost Tower's B1 floor.

A battle with Alhoon may or may not ensue. However, with the return of memories and her deteriorating mind, Laurel will go batshit for a moment and attack indiscriminately until she is stopped somehow.

Afterwards, with the full return of the team's memories, Alhoon will go away, and the team now finally has the freedom to escape the tower. Cherry and Zakki will likely end up being the ones who help them fly down from the tower's top to the ground outside. Once they are on the ground, the team will then start a new journey by foot, uncertain where to go now that they have the knowledge that everyone they loved are now dead.

Ok so, after some discussion it has been decided that everyone except for the Team Lead, Uboa will have no memories pertaining to the epidemic. My little blobby will realize this, and not wanting everyone to have a mental breakdown try to reveal information about the epidemic slowly, all while trying to help resolve any additional mental issues they may have. He will deliberately withhold information and even lie if he has to, all while trying to prepare everyone mentally as they scale the tower. The whole push is for everyone to scale the tower since the opening was sealed off, there will also be an incentive to go along with Uboa since he'll be the only one there who actually knows what's going on, even if he's spoon feeding information. Things will come to a culmination once they reach the top of the tower, for better or worse.

It's recommended that you put your loonies on this team C:

That would actually be really interesting with the memory loss plot. Cheshire wouldn't know he's undead.

    I'll be dualing Varanus, probably.

That was the idea I've talked with Moon, Cheshire wouldn't know or understand his condition as well as forget his obsession with Alice. While Alice is already having some memories already being cloudy and not know Cheshire. Cheshire will also not remember Uboa xD

Okay, I'll be taking Hikiro and dualing him with Uboa. With the loss of Requiem however, that brings us down to two members, and bringing up the possibility of inactivity for Lost. As a consequence, I am opening the team up for any and all characters, the only requirement being amnesia pertaining to the epidemic. We will rework the plot in order to cater to any new characters, if need be.
