I want to make a gastly, and was wondering how they would react to the disease... Would a gastly be immune like a poison type, or just fade away like a ghost type?

Ooh! I know!
They would fade away, but would take a bit longer than most ghost types, as they are secondary poison.~

"What's the point in them being happy now if they're going to be sad later?
The answer is, of course, because they're going to be sad later."

On a side note, only pure poison types are immune, like Muk or Arbok. Even if the primary type is poison, duel types can still be infected. I have seen a lot of confusion regaurding this and would like it to be cleared up. B]
